Karen x Reader x Hikari: A Forgotten Friendship Part 1

It was a cold winter day and you were walking down the street. Hands in your pockets and headphones blasting your favorite song in your ears.

"KAREN WATCH OUT!" A voice exclaimed.

You barely had time to process anything when you collided with someone. Falling backwards onto your butt. Your body shivered, displeased by the feeling of the cold snow.

"Ouch(!)" You and another person exclaimed in unison.

Your (E/C) eyes opened to see the bright pink eyes of a girl staring back at you. The girls lips and were inches away from yours and your noses were touching. Your cheeks started to darken suddenly as you tried to find the right words.

"U-Uh..." Was all you could manage to stutter out.

"Oh! I'm sorry!" The girl exclaimed. Jumping off of you before helping you back to your feet, "I wasn't watching where I was going and... (Y/N)!!??"

The way she said your name made you jump a little. It was like she knew who you were or something.... Wait...
You inspected the girl a little more before you realized it was exactly who you thought it was. Your childhood friend, Karen Aijo.

"Karen?!" You exclaimed in shock and happiness. Pulling her into a warm embrace out of instinct. It had been so long and you had missed her so much! She was your closest friend and you loved her more then anything...

Well... Almost anything

Karen's face began to heat up as she hugged you back tightly.

"Wow, you've gotten more bold since last time we saw each other", Karen mumbled into your chest.

This made you realize how you had been acting and quickly snapped you back to reality. You released Karen and started to apologize repeatedly.

"Who's this Karen?" A girl with dark purple hair questioned, slightly tilting her head to the side.

"Oh! Mahiru, this is my other childhood friend (Y/N). (Y/N) this is my new friend, Mahiru", Karen introduced.

You gave the girl a slight wave as to not be impolite. Karen put her arm around you, giving you a big smile.

"You should come with us! We were just heading back to our dorms. Hikari's there already", she explained.

"What? Hikari's back from England?" You said in shock. Your face flushing as you remembered your huge crush on Hikari when the three of you were kids.

"Yep! Come on let's go!" Karen said, happily taking your hand and running towards her dorm. Mahiru close behind the both of you.

When you finally arrived, Karen practically slammed open the door to the dorm room.

"Hikari! We're home! And look who we brought!" She exclaimed.

Hikari set down the script she had been studying and looked up. Her crystal blue eyes shining once they landed on you. Your eyes began to shine as well when you saw her. Heart beating harshly against your chest.

She was beautiful....

The two of you stared at each other in silence for a moment before Karen inturrupted.

"Hello! Earth to (Y/N) and Hikari", she exclaimed. Waving a hand in front of Your face.

"Huh!? Oh! H-hi, Hi Hikari! Long time no-" before you could finish your sentence, Hikari stood up and walked past you without saying a word, "See...?"

"Eh?" Mahiru muttered confused. You were thinking the same thing. Why was she ignoring you?

"Wait! Hikari!" Karen exclaimed, running after her. Stopping only to  briefly turn back to you, "I'll be right back!"

And with that, the energetic female dashed after the raven haired female. The door closing behind her and leaving you alone with Mahiru.

"Uh... So... How long have you been friends with them?" You questioned awkwardly.

"Hikari!" Karen exclaimed. Running to catch up with her friend. She walked a lot faster then she thought.

When Karen finally caught up to her, she had to put her hands on her kneese to catch her breath.

"Hikari *huff* why are*huff* huff* you ignoring (Y/N)?" She questioned, out of breath.

"Don't you remember?" Hikari questioned, "I promised... I promised you that I wouldn't persue (Y/N) because you were in love with them".

"Hikari we were little kids", Karen said with a smile, "It was just a silly childhood promise. You don't have to hold back because of it".

"So... You don't love them?"

"I never said that... But I can tell they really love you", Karen stated, "For now anyway".

"I'm assuming you still plan to persue them?" Hikari questioned with a smirk.

"Of course", Karen confidently, "And I plan on winning their heart".

"We'll See about that Karen..."
