Sam's POV

"Sam!" "Mm, yea sorry" Lexie laughed "I've been talking for the past five minutes, you've just been starring at the wall" "Yea sorry, guess I just have other things filling my mind" I explained. Lexie had come over to work on our project, "Well it's getting late so I should go, see you at school!" I waved goodbye and she left. I sighed, grabbing my coat and went for a walk, I found a park and went and sat on the swing set. Ohio was so different from New York, no dirty alleys, not all ways super noisy, people were nicer too. "Hey, Sam right?" I looked up to see that girl Amber "Yea, aren't you Amber?" "The one and only" she came and sat on the swing beside me. "So what brings you here?" "Just thinking" "You liking school?" "Yea, it's better then the one I went to in New York" I explained. "Any guys catch your eye?" Amber wiggled her eyebrows, I laughed "No not really" "Oh but Destiny has" "excuse me!" I exclaimed. I didn't like Des that way, okay maybe a little, but I would never admit to it. Besides I'm sure Des is either straight or just doesn't feel the same about me. "Come on! your shy around her, you practically blush every time she compliments you, you like her!" "No I think you-" "Your wasting your time anyways" she said interrupting me. "What do you mean?" "Des wouldn't date you! she's just being nice cause your new, I'd say pack up and move on, then again who would date you? Bye Sam see you in school" she smirked and walked away. I knew Des was just being nice cause I was new! I knew it! I don't mean anything to anyone. I ran home and into my room, telling mom I wasn't hungry for dinner. I sat on my bed and couldn't help but cry, my phone buzzed, it was a text from Des. I didn't even bother reading it. No body cares, nobody. I walked into my bathroom and opened the cabinets beneath the kitchen sink, grabbing my old friend. I rolled up my sleeves and pressed the blade to my skin, watching the blood roll down my wrist.

Lexie's POV

"Guys same still hasn't shown up" Des said as she sat down, it was lunch and Sam hadn't come to school. "Des, I'm sure she's just not feeling well, you know moving to a new state, probably still trying to adjust" Hannah reassured. "I'm going to her house after school, to check up on her" "Why not just text her?" "did that and she hasn't answered" "You texted in class!" I exclaimed. "Oh like you haven't done it!" I instantly shut up.  The bell rang and we all headed to our separate classes.

Destiny's POV

I drove my car as quick as I could without going past the speed limit. I know most people would say I'm over reacting, but based on what Amber had said to me at her house, pretty sure I had a good reason to be worried. I arrived at her apartment building and parked my car, I ran up the stairs and finally found her door. I knocked and a few second later her mom opened it "Hi Mrs. Kart, I was wondering if Sam was okay, she didn't come to school this morning" "Oh um yea, just wasn't feeling well" "Can I see her?" "Um no, sorry, I should go, goodbye Destiny" she shut the door before I could even respond.

Sam didn't come to school for the rest of the week. She didn't answer any of my calls or texts, I went back to her place one or two times more, each time her mom said she wasn't well and that I couldn't come in.  Lexie and Hannah said I was over reacting, said I just met her, how could already care so much? truth is I have no idea.
