Ever since you returned home from class and that unfortunate reunion with Coffee Shop Jerk (read: Jungkook), you haven't stopped thinking about what Jennie could've done or said to convince Yeri that you were the one for the job, and how whatever was said and done managed to convince that stubborn woman you call your closest friend. It's a peculiar situation that makes you frown as you open up your laptop to work and to wait for a response from Yonghwa as promised. You don't know if he'll be able to convince that stubborn, rude bastard, but it doesn't hurt to cross your fingers.

It doesn't take long to hear the door open to the dorm, earning your full attention as you swivel around in your chair to look at Jennie with narrowed eyes. She meets your gaze with raised eyebrows.

She sets down her stuff and finds a spot on her bed that's adjacent from your desk, then asks, "What?"

"What did you do to convince Yeri? I thought you were just there to show me your developed photos, which I still haven't seen, by the way."

"Well, should I tell you or show you?"

Now it's your turn for your eyebrows to screw together with questions now swimming in your mind as she hops off the bed and rifles through her drawers for the canary yellow envelope. Once they're in hand, she hands them over to you.

The package is thick with the photographs that Jennie took over the course of her two weeks with the new camera. Most of them are from the area surrounding the coffee shop, familiar enough yet still taking a new twist that only Jennie can when someone gets a camera in her hands. Despite a few blurry looking B-rolls, they all look like they've been intentionally altered to fulfill some unspoken aesthetic. And, the closer you get to the last of the photos, the closer it gets to the café.

There stands two people illuminated by the peak of the sun, somehow caught at just the right moment among the throng of people walking forward. Time has stopped for those two individual share an intimate moment together in just that split second. They don't seem to pay mind to everyone else as they gaze at one another and exchange a few words and some smiles. Then, it strikes you why the warmth in your chest fills with familiarity and it feels like your blood runs cold when you see how the man holds the woman with coffee in one of her hands.

It's you and Jeon Jungkook. Yeri gave you this job, because she thinks you and him know each other from these fucking photos.

"Holy fuck," you mutter. "Holy fuck holy fuck holy fuck."

"Yeah. Yeri saw these and asked if you two know each other. Naturally, I said yes." You throw a distressed look at Jennie, earning a head tilt. "What? What's wrong?"

"I mean what the fuck? Thank you for having my back, but seriously, Jennie! I don't know him like that. I don't know him at all. This was just a chance moment and now I have to interview this asshole. Well, I don't even know if I can interview him."

"What do you mean you don't know?" Your mind flashes back to earlier this morning when the devil himself laughed in your face at even the idea of you conducting an interview on him. Somehow you feel even more desolate remembering just how impossible this task might be, and even worse to know that Yeri might not even give you an opportunity to redeem yourself. This might be your last chance.

"Well, he told me a flat out no when I asked this morning, and if you don't remember, he's a fucking asshole. Or maybe he was just having a bad day that day I spilled coffee on him. I don't know for sure. I talked to his professor about talking to him for me but I have no clue how that went either."

"Who knows? Maybe the odds will play in your favor. Has the professor emailed you yet?"

You let out a rough sigh. "No. I've been waiting."
