twelve - payback's... not so bad after all.

It's been a good two weeks since you've enlisted him for any more interviewing services. Of course, with deadlines and the both of you working on your own separate projects, that's expected.

One of those deadlines is getting a rough cut of his film in to Yonghwa. Of course, this doesn't have to include the B-rolls, but Jungkook can't help that he needs to film those just so he won't have to worry about them later. It's a habit he wants to break, yet he can't find it in him to do that regardless.

So, he simply seeks out Jimin that Wednesday evening, a man that promised him that he would help him on this overachieving endeavor. But the moment he finds the older man and reminds him of their task for tomorrow, he receives a somewhat apologetic no.

"What do you mean you can't help me?" Jungkook demands, a sudden rush of anxiety spiking through his veins as Jimin stares on at him in nonchalance.

"Because I can't." When Jungkook asks him why not, Jimin naturally pulls out the "I-have-to-help-with-the-upcoming-party" card. It's valid since it is in about a week from now, but he doesn't even look remotely guilty for suddenly bailing out on filming like he said he would, and it doesn't help that no one else will be able to help either.

Sure, Jungkook's technically lying to Yonghwa about the staff and all by enlisting the help of his fraternity brothers. It's not like they're inept to what he needs help with. They're not exactly fellow film students either. But they don't leave him to dry or question the way he does things and why he does things the way he does it. But now he would really be out of options.

Well, not completely.

There still is one other person... But he shakes his head at the idea of the thought.

"Fuck... who's gonna help me now?" He means to say this more to himself than aloud for Jimin to feel bad. It'd be nice if he did though.

"What about that one English major interviewing you?" Jimin asks, fully knowing how Jungkook will react. And as the younger man's visage contorts with mild embarrassment, Jimin breaks out into a fit of laughter. "What's wrong with her? I thought you liked her."

"I mean I do—not like that; for fuck's sake, stop talking to Yonghwa and updating him on my love life—but anyway, she's busy. She has an upcoming draft coming up, so I don't think I should bug her."

Jimin raises his eyebrows at him, a small smile curving on his lips. "Really, now? You guys seem awfully close."

"God, you're just as worse as Yonghwa." He shakes his head, hearing a ding emanate from his phone. He knows who it's from, and that draws him out of his older friend's room faster. "Fine, whatever. Don't help."

"Just ask her for help!"

"And ask her out while you're at it, too," Jin interjects from his bedroom.

"You both suck," Jungkook groans with a shake of his head. "I'm going to my room."

As soon as he enters his safe haven and locks the door, he feels his thoughts clear and the anxieties become nothing but little murmurs when he sees your message. He's exhausted from the back-to-back lectures and a "quick" (read: two-hour) gym session, but seeing your name come up imbues him with a sudden burst of energy. Somehow in those measly two weeks, you and him have gotten closer than before.

He wouldn't have anticipated that from the rough start, but a part of him has been atoning for his own shittiness by going easy on you. And to see that the interest you have in him goes beyond just the interview obligation makes him happy. Talking to you makes him happy. For once, in a long time, he feels understood by someone other than the six brothers he made just a year ago. And this feeling is different. When he sees your name, hears it when his professor and friends tease him, and can say it when you do something that calls for it. It's nice.
