Ringing the doorbell, I wait patiently as a small smile spread across my lips. I bounce around on my feet while I waited for Adien to open up the door.
"Hey, y/c/n," She says once the door finally flings open. I greeted her back with a smile, and give her the bouquet. A gasp escapes her lips as she softly carries it away. I trail along behind her. She grabs a vase, fills it with water, and place the flower in.
"It's absolutely beautiful," Adien says, breaking the silence. She gently strokes the white petal of the rose, smiling to herself.
"Glad you like it," I replied, smirking. I wrap an arm around her waist and pecks her cheek.
"So," She started, "you haven't told me what we're going to do for our date yet," She pats my chest while I chuckle lowly.
"You've got to guess."
"You know I hate guessing, y/c/n," She whines, making me laugh at her. She huffs and puffs as I guide her outside, towards the car. I open the door for her and close it back once she's inside. Jogging around, I open the door and place myself inside.
I start the car up and drive to the restaurant we're eating in. The moonlight softly illuminates the street, along with the lamp streets at the side of the road. I look at the corner of my eye to see Adien staring out the window. I appreciate the view as I continue driving. The drive was silent the whole time, but it was a comfortable silence while we savor each other's presence.
I park the car in the parking lot and open the door for Adien. Her dress is crinkled a little, so she smoothes out with her hand. She links her arm with mine as I guide her towards the restaurant.
Once we step foot on the welcome rug in front, immediately, a receptionist runs at us and ask what name did we register in.
"Y/c/l/n," I said, making the receptionist nod and bring us to our table. We sat down and start ordering. But just as the waiter about leaves, bangs, and cracks were heard. I snap back, paranoid, only to see a man with a rifle.
I look around to see everyone cowering in fear, but I'm mostly concerned about Adien. She seems okay... I lied. No, she's not okay. Her color is all drained from her face, and I could hear her ragged breathing from here. Her hands are shaking, but I can't tell how she's feeling. It's blank, void, nada. Nothing's there.
"Everybody get down on your knees!" The guy shouted as two more of his minions come piling in, carrying the rifle in their hand carelessly around.
Everybody, as said, starts crawling down onto their knees. I did too, but I found Adien not moving at all.
"Hey," I muttered, gently yet firmly. She snaps out of it, stares at me, and slowly gets down.
"I'm scared, y/c/n."
"Don't worry, love," I whispered, "We'll make it out of here." Like clockwork, the police barges into the door, heavily armed as the robbers. All of us discreetly lets a sigh of relief while two of the robbers start scampering around. One of them, the leader I'm guessing, stays there with anything but fear written on his face. He tightens his hold on the gun and starts running towards me. I freeze until he grabs Adien by the arms, and press the gun onto her neck.
"No!" I shouted, jumping up but the police officer prevents me from doing anything stupid.
"You take one step closer to me, and I'll blow this bitch's head up!" The black-masked guy exclaimed as Adien starts quivering.
"Put the gun down, Isaac," He said behind me. The robber starts shaking his head vigorously until a gunshot is heard. My eyes went wide as I expect the robber to fall limp, but it wasn't him. Adien falls onto the ground with a hard impact.
Immediately, the police ran towards Isaac to prevent him from further death, but I just stand there until reality kicks in. Adien is currently on the floor and is possibly dead.
"Adien!" I shouted and rush over to her side. I cradle her in my arms while she lays there, a small smile on her face that is as pale as ever. She slowly lifts up her hand and stroke it along my jawline, making me lean into her touch. A small tear slides down my cheek at her bloody neck. "Stay with me, love. Paramedics are on their way." She shakes her head slowly.
"I won't make it," She croaks out.
"No, no, no," I shake my head, "Come on, Adien, you have to! For me. For you. For us."
"No, y/c/n," She says, her face filled with grief that she has to say this. "You have to let me go."
"You can't do this to me," I said, bringing her closer to me. "We have a future together. I love you, you can't leave me. I don't know what I'll do without you." I choked out the last part as I start sobbing.
"I love you too, y/c/n, but I won't make it," Adien said. A sad smile lingers on her face. "Find someone new. Someone who could love you as much as I do. Someone who cares for you as much as I do. But promise me one thing."
"Anything."
"Remember me," She says, "Remember that I was your first everything. Remember that I was there for you." I nod at her. I'll do anything for her. "But don't make me something you should dwell on. Be happy, and to be okay that I'm leaving you."
"I promise, Adien."
"I love you, y/c/n, and I'll miss every single moment we had. I would do anything just to relive my life with you," She whispered, stroking my face once again as she engraves every feature of my face to her memory. I do just the same to her, not knowing when I'll be able to see her again.
"I love you too, Adien. Forever."
