Percy's POV.

honestly I thought the attack from the gorgons and empousa this evening were strangely easy.

And why did they give up Luke so easily?

I tried not to think about it.

"Why do your plates fly?" asked Charlie.

"Are they ghosts?" asked Luke with wide eyes.

"Oh, no, they're wind spirits." answered Annabeth.

"AWESOME." Luke screamed.

He seemed to be recovering easily.

Which was strange for his age, considering what he's been through.

A plate with a big cheeseburger and a heap of fries floated to Luke's side.

He dug in and finished in a matter of minutes.

Charlie however, just stared at her plate with wondering eyes.

Everyone was kinda quiet, except for Luke. He asked all the questions, and piper was the one to answers.

"Leo, why don't you show like the ship." Said piper.

"AWESOME."

"Sure, would you like to meet Festus?"

"Who's that?"

"Ill show you." and with that they walked to the door and left.

"He's a cute kid." stated hazel.

"He is, did you see his little dimples whenever he smiled."

Then the girls were fawning over their new best friend.

I looked back at Charlie. She still hadn't touched her plate of pizza.

"Charlie? are you okay?" I asked.

Of course she wasn't okay, her family's been kidnapped and she just found out she's a demigod.

"Hm? oh, yeah. I'm um, fine." she lied.

"I have a question."

"Yeah?"

"Are Luke and Emily you real brother and sister? cause that's extremely rare for a god to have three children. especially since the promise."

" Um, no, no, I was adopted."

"Did you know your mother?" asked Jason.

"No.... I was put in foster care when I was little, they told me my mom died of drug overdose when I turned 10."

"Oh, I'm sorry I didn't know."

"No, it's fine I got over it. I've only seen pictures of her."

"But it must be nice to have a family like Luke."

"Yeah, Luke and Emily are awesome."

"What..... what about your mom." I asked.

"Yeah, yeah she's great."

It was silent for a moment.

"Uh, I'm sorry, but is there some place for me to just...lay down."

"Oh, sure you and Luke can have my room. I have to stay up for lookout anyway." I stated.

"You sure?" I nodded.

"Thank you." she slowly got up and followed Jason out of the room, so he could quickly show her where everything is.

As they turned the corner we could here luke excitedly telling her about Festus.

"They're asleep."

Whispered piper. "I told Charlie we could train with her tomorrow."

"What are we going to do about her and her family? we don't even know where to look, we also, are trying to find gea, remember?"

"Thanks for reminding us frank. what would we do without you." said Leo sarcastically.

Frank rolled his eyes.

"Percy?"

"Hm?" I looked up at Annabeth. I hadn't realized I'd been staring at the door.

"Oh, sorry, it's just.... didn't you think the whole empousa attack was.....too easy? and why would she just give up Luke?"

"I was thinking about that. and didn't luke seem to recover too quickly?" Jason pointed.

"I was kinda like they wanted her to get Luke.....li-" just then Luke ran into the room.

"Wh- where's Charlie ?" he breathed.

"What do you mean?"

"She...... she's gone."
