The car had to be towed so Nicole, Candice and I all waited outside of the nearest to the nearest auto repair shop. Waiting for Candice's brother. His name was Dean and he was hot. He looked like a real bad boy. A black tank top with sagging jeans. Muscles that screamed they belonged to real man. He had a tattoo of a snake wrapped around a knife on his arm too.
"Yo, what happened? Why I am here?" He asked with his deep sexy voice. (I think discovered a new kink. Dean.)
"She didn't tell you?" Nicole asked.
"Nope. Only a text saying 'need help. Bring lots of money'."
"She crashed my car into a tree." Nicole said while giving Candice a death stare.
"Oh. Well it's not as bad as I thought. I thought you guys got involved with the mafia or something."
"My god, Dean. Must you always jump to conclusions like that." Candice asked, annoyed.
"When it's you involved, yes." Dean and Nicole both said that at the same time.
"Whatever." Dean looked down and finally noticed me.
"So, what's with the puppy?" Nicole picked up and held me at her side. I guess she was doing this so Dean could see me better.
"This is Cecil. I'm watching over him for a friend. He was supposed to go home today but you know."
"Hi." I said timidly.
"Yo." Dean held his hand out for a fist bump. I bumped it back.
"Alright, now that's over with, can we get the car fixed now?" Candice asked impatiently.
"Okay, let's go before Candice throws another tantrum and sets this place on fire." Candice began walking away with her middle finger high in the air.
Later...
Nicole's car was going to take several hours in the shop. All of us went out to eat. There was a diner nearby. We all walked there. We sat at the booth closest to the door. (A quick escape, I guess.) We ordered our food and engaged in a bunch of small talk while we waited."So, Dean. It's been awhile. How's the wife and kid?" Nicole asked. (Damn. He's married and has a kid. There goes every possible chance I had with him.)
"They're fine. Toby still trying to learn how to speak properly. His mother refuse to give up. She keeps trying to get his very first word to be mommy."
"Sounds like something she would do. That woman is only crazy but determined too." Dean nudge his sister's side as a way of telling her to shut up. Candice gave him a death stare back. He smirked at her like he was saying "go ahead and try."
"I see you two are getting along as usual." Nicole commented in a lower tone.
"Don't worry, N. We'll be doing a lot more bonding when we get home." Candice gave her brother a rather suggestive look, but he denied her by saying,
"Sorry, little sis. Not today. Gotta watch Toby tonight. She wants to go out with her friends." (Wait, a minute. What exactly were these two talking about here? I hope it's not what I think it is. ) Candice rested her chin in her palm, sulkily. She even let out a dramatic sigh.
"Fuck her." She said under breath. Dean then leaned in closer to his sister and somewhat whispered in her ear.
"Yep. That's what I do." He said all with teasing smirk. Candice's facial expression instantly turned into one of complete disgust.
"Ew! I'm glad I haven't eaten anything yet. I would've puked it all up by now." We all take a moment to laugh at her reaction. She crossed her arms and buried her face in them. "Don't talk to me until our food comes."
A minute or two later our food arrives. Dean ordered a cheeseburger, which was gone in the blink of an eye. (Seriously. Where did it even go? Did he somehow swallow it whole?)Candice literally asked for a plate of jalapeno peppers. (Which I didn't think was possible until the waiter put the plate on the table.) Nicole got (just) a salad. What? Did she think she was getting fat or something? (Though I have noticed her putting on some weight recently. Maybe she finally noticed too.) And I wanted a BLT 'cause I love me some bacon.
Right before we were about to leave Nicole got up to use the bathroom. Dean got up to pay the bill so when she got out we could all leave right away. So once again, it's just me and Candice left alone at the table. (I was starting to think that she was somehow doing this on purpose.) She gave me another one of those curious looks.
"About last night. How was I for you?" I took in a deep gulp. Why must she always talk about sex? Doesn't she not have anything better to do?
"You were good." I answer all nervous-like.
"Rate me on a scale from one to ten."
"Umm...I guess you were a nine." Her number might've been lower if I was my normal self last night. (Maybe more like an eight or a seven.)
"Really? I was that good?" A small smile was starting to appear on her face. "That means I was definitely better than Nicole." (Well, yeah. That's 'cause you swallowed.) "But does that mean I was better than your mommy?"
"Hell no!" I outburst. I quickly recollect myself. The whole restaurant might've heard me. Now my face is warm from slight embarrassment. "I mean no." I said way more quietly.
"Okay. I get it. No one can replace your mommy." She said as if I didn't just yell at her. Dean finally came back. He sat back down next to his sister.
"Sorry, I took longer than usually. This place didn't accept my credit card so I had to pay with cash." He explained.
"Oh, Okay. But it's not like that matters. Nicole is still in the bathroom."
"What's taking her so long?" I asked.
"Don't know. I'll go see what's taking her so long."
