You Were the Sun.

You were my sun and I should've worn sunscreen.

but I have a feeling even that wouldn't have helped,

I would've still heard your lies.

I would've still seen your mistakes.

and I should've walked away after your rays first burned my skin.

right after your scorching words first reached my ears.

right after your fiery ball of mistakes first were burned into my eyes.

and it's no ones fault but my own,

because I could've worn sunscreen,

but I needed you.

and I still do.
