good morning, sunshine

Recap:

Go inside.

Are they nuts? This is somebody's home. Somebody has lived here recently. I am not going in there.

No way. Somebody lives here.

If you go in, you'll understand.

So I did what any sane person would do.

I walked up the porch steps and walked in.

I was greeted with a bad smell and a beige wall with a mahogany table to hold keys and such. There was a newspaper dating back a month ago. The headline read "Chain of Murders Sweeps Through Westbrooke." Why is this so old? I looked up from that and was met with a family photo of a mom, dad, and a daughter.

The mother and daughter were very similar. Both with beautiful blonde locks cascading past their ribs and bright blue eyes. The dad, on the other hand, had short brown hair and piercing green eyes. They looked well put together. I kept walking and looking at all of the pictures on the wall. I ended up coming across a news article cut-out in a frame.

"Emily Sanchez, daughter of Evan Sanchez and Mallory Sanchez, is believed to be next CEO of Sanchez Enterprises, the Nation's largest bank firm. Pretty impressive, huh?" said a voice from behind me. I screamed and turned around. It was the guy from the family portrait. His green eyes bored into mine. Then it went dark.

~~~~~
Drip.
Drip.
Drip.
A continuous sound, echoing through my ears. I open my eye slightly noticing there is no light in the room for me to adjust to. The only thing I could see was an old-fashioned cat clock. Like, the ones you see in movies. I squint and attempt to see the time, but, it was too far away and too dark for me to see.
Then I heard a creak of a metal door with rusted hinges come to life. The green eyes staring back at me through the sliver of light in the eyes bored into mine with a burning curiosity. They were a piercing green, with a gray circle around the pupil. They were truly beautiful, to say the least.
"For someone who breaks into someone's home, you sure do get scared a lot," he said, coming over and opening the door more and stepping inside. He turned the lights on and I can see a lot more. I was in a guest room I think.
"You fainted. Sorry for scaring you, I guess. Can I ask why you're in my house?"
"I didn't necessarily break-in, the door was unlocked."
He chuckled.
"Okay, but why did you come into my unlocked home?"
"Because it was unlocked." I wanted to add onto that these creepy scary guys that totally committed murder made me do it, but my dad's life is on the line, and I couldn't do it. They are always watching.
He sighed.  And shook his head. And sat on the chair across from the bed I was lying on.
"So, nothing to do with the Gods?"
I'm pretty sure if you would have seen my face, you would have assumed Casper and I was long lost, twins. All of the blood left my face, and my heart fell into the pit of my stomach. This is the exact reaction he expected of me too. You could tell by the sinister smile that stretched across the face. "Oh come on, you think they would push you into a random person's house?"
I pushed myself closer to the headboard. But, what was that going to do? He'll get me whether I am close to the headboard or not. He dragged both of his hands down his face in thought. He had very dark eye bags. He probably hasn't slept in a while with the "Gods" controlling him. Or maybe he is working for them willingly, maybe even volunteering. I know nothing about this man. But, then I said something I never thought I would.
"What are you going to do, kill me?" I said with a light chuckle. I have gone mad. He smirked.
"I'm the least of your worries, sunshine. You have no idea what you have gotten into," then he came over with a washcloth and pressed it to my nose. It was obviously chloroform, but I didn't struggle. I was a goner either way. This was my fate, whether I liked it, or not. I'm sorry dad.
Hey guys! It's Lex here, obviously, God I am stupid. Okay, enough with the self-deprecation. I am sorry for the poor uploads, I will try to at least publish one a month, maybe two if I am feeling ambitious, or there is a school break. I know there are grammatical issues, and nothing really makes sense, but I am "kid," please bear with me.
Your self-deprecating author,
Lexi Izyk
