"Now it is time!" called Mr Davies. "For the Iaido tournament!" The people in the seats were clapping and cheering.
"We have gather a champion from the North, West, East, and South to battle it out, and decide who is the best!" another round of applause was executed.
"Before we begin, I must show everyone the prize that will be given to the champion." He walked towards a box covered with a black cloth. He lifted the cloth in one swift movement to reveal the well-made, ruby encrusted sword. "The Chinese Long-Sword!"
There was a mixture of gasps of amazement and loudly audible claps in the crowd.
"There will a total of three matches, to make sure each champion has fought. Now, without further ado, I present the contestants of the first match." He pointed upward towards a large TV screen displaying that Katie Stan and Simon Kent will brawl first. Stephanie, Fatima and Aisha were bouncing in excitement while everyone else applauded the both of the first contestants.
Katie appeared from the entrance, barely visible in the armour she has put on, Stephanie was screaming her good luck as the rest of the crowd applauded. Samantha didn't do anything because she knew that Katie would win.
The second contestant, who was the young man with wavy blonde hair, stepped in after Katie. His hair or expressions barely visible under the armour, which had 'Simon Kent' sewn in the sides.
"Contestants, please take you places and shake each other's hand!" Mr Davies bellowed in the microphone.
Katie and Simon took a step forward and they both shook hands. Katie was trying to be soft but Simon, on the other hand, was squeezing her hand so hard, it's almost as if he's trying to break it. They let go and took a step back.
"Begin!" Mr Davies said, and the match commenced.
As Mr Davies spoke, the two swords collided with a massive clang; the fighters looked menacingly towards each other. Then, in the blink of an eye, Katie swung around and hit Simon at the sides of the ribs.
Katie previously mentioned that she did not want to hurt any of the contestants, so she would speak to Mr Davies and mark the amount of slashes on the opponent's armour. She was up by one. Simon, slightly surprised by Katie's speed, dodged one of her next attacks and aimed for the head. Katie with the reflexes of a cat, swung her sword upwards, which collided with Simon's sword again, creating the clang once more.
Simon was obviously becoming frustrated with Katie's speed and reflexes, and was ambushing Katie was unstoppable swings. However Katie found another way. Cunningly, she pounced over Simon and jabbed him in the back with the pommel of her sword with such force, he fell face first into the mats, looking exhausted.
"I give up, she's too good." He said with a handsome smile.
"Kate Stan wins!" said Mr Davies, as the crowd went wild, but none as wild as Stephanie, Fatima and Aisha, who were screaming at the top of their voices.
"Congratulations Katie, you performed marvellously. Now the second match with start with the other two contestants." He pointed towards the screen above him which read 'Carlos Black versus Whitney Spencer '
There was a murmur flying through the crowd. "Carlos Black?" they kept questioning, confused.
Carlos Black was the swordfighter of the North, who would always win every match he had faced without a problem.
