Tala sits on a bench with her legs up to her chest. She rests her head on one of her knees, taking in the dark surrounding the bench. "Y'know, a girl like you shouldn't be out here this late," Someone said, joining her.
"Fuck off." Tala said, voice void of emotion. The stranger sat down on the bench next to her.
"Why are you out here this late anyway?""I just needed some air." Tala moves her knees away from her chest, still up by her stomach though.
"I hear that there's a powerful elf that's dying. That happens to be your....partner."
"They're dying. There's nothing I can do to save them. Who the hell are you anyway?" Tala asks, meeting the stranger's eyes.
"I sense powerful magic in you, Tala, and I can give you a thing to save them, if you trade your magic to me."
Tala's eyebrows shoot to her hairline, straightening her back. "Take it. I don't want it."
"You don't want your magic?"
"No. It was what killed my father. And my mother. I don't want it. Take it."
"Okay." The stranger placed a hand on Tala's shoulder, and then began chanting something in Fae. Tala understood some of it, who was taking the magic from Tala, Tala groaning a little.
Once the magic was gone, the green against her skin was no longer bright, but dull and blended in with her skin tone a little more than they used to. "I can't take all of a fae's magic. You're stuck with some. Enough to do simple things."
"I don't want it."
"You have to." The stranger dug through their pockets, grabbing something and handing it to Tala. "And as promised, your partner's ring. It will only level their magic levels, it's all that it does. No memory eraser like the last one."
Tala smiled, taking the ring. "Thank you."
"Go see them. Aidan will be happy to see you. Take your brother with you."
"How do you know my family and friends?"
"Let's say, that I've been watching over you four."
They stand and leave, wings appearing on their back into the night.
Tala held the ring between two fingers, anxiously playing with it. She was standing outside of Aidan's door, around dark, she was sure that Aidan was either feeding Elliot, or just sitting.
Aidan answers, with a little blood dribbling down her own mouth. "Hey, Tala? How come you're here so late?"
"Can I see Elliot?" Tala asks, her brother's grip on her hand tightening. Aidan nodded, opening the door wider, her still standing behind it. Something suggested that Khal was over, that the two of them were relaxing until Khal forced Aidan to feed off of her. Aidan wore a black tank-top, her red hair covering the left side of her face. She wore sleep shorts, clearly was ready for bed.
Tala and her brother walk in, Aaron stops holding Tala's hand. "Aidan this is my little brother."
"Hey, buddy," She said, crouching down to his height. "You can go see Elliot. They're in their room. They're asleep, I think."
Tala nods. "You're gonna look after Aaron?"
Aidan nods. "Yeah." Tala smiles to her, twisting the ring in her sweaty hand.
When Tala walks into Elliot's room, their marks are glowing and sparking around, dangerously. "Hey, love," Tala said, sitting on the bed next to Elliot. "I got something for you."
