"We found his body," The blonde officer says, looking down at the papers in his hand.
"What?" Jinyoungs voice cracks.
"You're lying to me," he says, sobbing into Woojins chest.
"We're sorry sir, he's dead," the officer says, another one walking up right next to him.
"Wh- how- why? I-" Jinyoung couldn't process anything at the moment. A million things were going through his head at the moment.
"He left because someone called him, correct?"
Jinyoung nods.
"You said he was under the influence, correct?" The tanned officer says, and Jinyoung nods before sobbing back into Woojins chest.
"We couldn't find any other evidence."
"What does that mean?" Jihoon asks.
"It means that there's a ninety percent chance he committed suicide."
And then it hit him. Jinyoung remembered all the times Daehwi said stupid things about him being suicidal and Jinyoung never did anything about it.
"It's my fault," Jinyoung speaks up.
"What?" The officers say at the same time.
"He's always mentioned being... suicidal but I never did anything about it because he promised to never do anything again, it's all my fault, I'm so fucking stupid," Jinyoung says before standing up, but he falls down in his seat right after he stands up.
"Jinyoung it's not your-"
"Is this his phone?" An officer hands a phone to the tanned officer, and he shows it to Jinyoung.
Jinyoung stares at it for three seconds before bursting into more tears.
"Yes," Woojin says, knowing Daehwi better than anyone.
"How are you related to Lee Daehwi sir?" He asks Woojin.
"He used to be in my boy group, we were best friends," Woojin says and the officer nods.
"And you sir? Why are you here?" He looks to Jihoon.
"Uh, I'm his best friend and his boyfriend," Jihoon says and the officers nod.
"Do any of you know his password? If we can get into his phone we can see his recent calls and figure out who called him and take that information in to do research."
Jinyoung hesitates before unlocking Daehwi's phone. His lock screen was a picture of him and Jinyoung in Japan with the Eiffel Tower in the background. Tears fell on the screen. His phone was shattered.
"Thank you, it'll be okay sir," The officer takes Daehwis phone back from Jinyoung and goes to sit down at one of the front desks.
"xxx-xxx-xxxx, do any of you know this number?"
The three of them shake their heads.
"Okay I'm going to search the number up," the officer says, logging onto a computer.
Jinyoungs breathing kept getting worse by the minute and Jihoon and Woojin couldn't calm him down any more.
"Does anybody recognize this name?"
The three of them look to the computer but only Woojin goes in shock.
"No no no no no no no no no-"
"Sir, I'm going to need you to calm down and tell me who the person is."
"That's his mom," Woojin says.
"Fuck!" Jinyoung cries.
"Is there a problem?" The officer asks.
"His mom was the reason of his suicide. There's no other way," Woojin says, and the officers look at him weirdly.
"What?"
"His mom hasn't contacted him for the last three years and he said he would refuse to talk to her ever again because she basically abandoned him," Woojin says.
"Would this be the only reason?"
"Fuck! It's all my fault it's all my fault it's all my fault he was drunk and it was my fault! I let him drink, because that was all that was there! Officers please just kill me or arrest me or anything! I don't care I don't want to live-"
"Stop blaming yourself, there's multiple reasons this could've happened sir,"
"I don't think you should be going this crazy, did you take your medicine?" Jihoon asks.
"I've been out for over seven hours what makes you think I took my-"
"Sir, may I ask what you have to take medicine for?"
"He has cancer-"
"Jihoon let him answer for himself."
"It's okay," Jinyoung says.
"Is everything alright?" A figure walks in, and Jinyoung runs up to the lady.
How did everyone know where to find Jinyoung?
"Mom," Jinyoung cries into her shoulders.
"I'm so sorry," she says, kissing her sons head.
How did the whole country know?
Jinyoung doesn't say anything, he just cries.
"It'll be okay, I'm here," she says, closing her eyes tightly.
"We will keep this phone to look in on more, but for now you guys should head home," the blonde officer says, and Jihoon nods.
"Thank you," Jihoon says and the officer nods.
"Oh! sir," The tanned officer says and Jinyoung turns around.
"Yes?"
"I saw you with a ring on and I thought you'd want to keep this... we cleaned it," the officer says kindly, handing Jinyoung a tiny bag with a silver ring in it. It was the promise ring that Jinyoung bought Daehwi in Japan.
It said...
"I'll stay."
