Chapter 11- Suprise

I left Jaemin's house and we planned to have dinner with our families tonight. He still doesn't know about our daughter and neither does my family, except for Nori.

It was almost noon and I was driving back home. I knew Minnie would be quite upset that I wasn't at home early like I promised, but I also knew that my loving daughter was very understanding.

As soon as I rang the doorbell, Minnie opened the door and hugged my legs tightly.

"Hey Minnie!" I cheerfully said as I picked her up and kissed her tiny cheek.

"Mommy, I missed you so much!" She said and then pouted.

"I'm sorry Minnie." I said as I carried her inside and greeted Yumi. I thanked her for taking care of Minnie the entire night and then she left.

I sat on the couch and made Minnie sit on my lap. It was time to tell about her father.

"Minnie?" I started, "Do you want a Daddy?"

"Yes Mommy!" She half-yelled and  smiled widely.

I giggled at her cuteness. "Okay, Minnie. I want to tell you something."

"Okay."

"We are meeting your Daddy and his family today. We are meeting my family also."

"Is Aunt Nori going to be there?"

"Yes, she will be there."

"Mommy, his name is Jaemin?" She asked. "What should I call him?"

"You can call him Daddy, Minnie." I said softly. "You remember the man you met in my office?"

She nodded. "The handsome mister."

"That's your Daddy." I said. Her eyes widened.

"But Mommy you didn't tell him who I am."

"I know Minnie, we are going to tell him today. Okay?"

"Okay Mommy." She said. She seemed so happy. When she's old enough to understand the truth, I will tell her everything.

"Mommy I'm done!" I heard Minyeon say as she ran into my room. She looked adorable wearing her small red jumpsuit with a black beanie and black shoes. "We are matching, Mommy!"

I giggled as I noticed that she was right. I was wearing a short red dress which was strapless, with black heels.

"Okay, let's get going, Minnie." I said as I lifted her in my arms.

We reached my parents' house in more than half an hour. Unfortunately, there was quite a lot of traffic. I parked my car and got out, taking Minnie in my arms. I was so nervous. How would Jaemin react? Would everyone accept Minnie?

Pushing my thoughts aside, I took a deep breath and rang the doorbell.

Nori opened the door greeted me and Minnie.

"Minnie! I missed you so much!" She said, taking Minyeon in her arms.

"I missed you too, Aunt Nori!" Minnie said, kissing her cheek, making her chuckle.

We walked inside to the living room where everyone was seated, talking to each other. They stopped talking and looked at me.

I nervously bowed. They all seemed happy to see me. I noticed Jaemin was staring at me, which made me blush.

"Who's this little cutie, Nori?" Jihoon asked as Nori set Minnie down on the floor. Minnie immediately hugged my legs. She was quite shy of being around new faces.

"Well, you have to ask Naru." Nori said. Everyone looked at me curiously.

I looked down at my daughter and picked her up, getting her kiss on her forehead.

"Jaemin, can you come here?" I asked him softly. He looked so confused but came and stood next to me.

This was it. It's time.

"Minyeon, this is your Daddy." I said softly. "Jaemin, this is our daughter."

I heard several gasps.

"Is this true!? She's my child!?" Jaemin asked, his voice was filled with excitement.

"Bro, are you dumb? She looks like you." Jihoon said, earning a round of laughter from the older people.

"Hi Daddy." Minnie said politely. "Nice to meet you."

I saw Jaemin tear up a bit as he took Minyeon in his arms. He was scanning her face, "Wow, you have all my features except my eyes."

Minnie looked confused but didn't say anything.

Everyone started talking to her while we ate dinner. She politely and cutely answered all their questions. I could see that everyone loved her already. Of course they would, she was so loving!

After dinner we all sat in the living room. I knew everyone was going to bombard me with questions.

"So Naru, where have you been all these years?" Jihoon asked.

"Minnie, why don't you go play with Tazz? You love cats, don't you?" I asked even though I knew her answer. I didn't want my daughter to hear this conversation yet.

"Yes, Mommy! Where is he?" Minnie asked with a huge smile.

"He's there." I said as I pointed to the white Persian cat. Minnie immediately went there and started playing with Tazz.

I turned back to answer my brother-in-law's question, "Well Jihoon, I've been in Shanghai."

"When did you get pregnant then?" Jaemin asked.

"I found out on the day I... I left." I said, embarrassed.

I looked away, "I came to your office to surprise you with the news, but... we all know what happened so let's not talk about that. I'm deeply ashamed and embarrassed of myself."

"I told you it's fine, baby." Jaemin said softly as he kissed my cheek. I heard an 'aw' from Nori and Jihoon. I looked at them and stuck my tongue out.

"How did you manage being pregnant and all alone in Shanghai?" Jaemin's mom asked me.

"Actually my best friends live there. They both married each other and have twins who are a year younger than Minnie," I explained. "They helped me find a house and I was an Architect. Eunyeon used to take care of me like a child when I was pregnant cause I was often quite cranky and moody."

"So expected." Jaemin murmured. I turned and glared at him. He gave me a kiss on my forehead.

"I'm guessing Nori knew everything?" Jihoon questioned.

"Well obviously. Do you think she's gonna hide all this from me?" Nori said, rolling her eyes at her significant other. "In fact, I first met Minnie when she was seven months old and I saw her at least thrice every year."

"What!? So that's why you were constantly travelling out of country?" Jihoon asked her. She nodded. "Sneaky."

Everyone was so happy to find out that there was a new member in the family. They even started teasing me and Jaemin!

"Mommy..." Minnie said softly as she approached us, rubbing her eyes. "I'm sleepy."

"I'll take that as my cue to leave." I said, taking Minyeon into my arms. Everyone nodded. Me, Jaemin and Minnie said our byes and left. Jaemin was staying over in my apartment today. We drove individually since we both had our cars.

As I drove and stopped at a signal, I looked back to see my beautiful daughter sleeping peacefully.

"You're my world, Minyeon. I love you." I whispered while looking at her sleeping form.
