Harper was still contemplating what had transpired over the past five years in that maze. He was in love for five years; that was gone. Hopefully she'd come back in eight years. But for now, he just had his loyal friends.
He vowed never to find new love. He still believed in Mindy, and hoped that someday, she'd come back again.
His parents were out checking out a nursing home, so Harper was free for the day. He decided to take a trip to the store and buy a video game. His parents left him $800 to "do whatever you want with it," so he put it to use. The newest gaming console out was the Darwin Gameplay 100, so he got it for $250. He bought his favorite sports game, NHL 2023, for $45. That left just enough for the newest phone, the PhoneMaster 23. So he got it all and connected everything to the house. He started playing the game.

As he played, he got a phone call from his mom.
H: Hey, Mom.
M: Hi, Harper. We have some...news.
H: Hit me.
M: Well...we decided we want to stay in the nursing home, live out our lives there. Your friend Darren's parents are moving into the same home.
H: Oh...wow.
M: I know. Well, we're coming back to pack up. I guess the house is yours.
H: Ah. But how will I pay the bills?
M: Well, you know how we're a pretty rich family, right?
H: Yeah...
M: Well, we put most of our money into your bank account and all the bills are set to be paid automatically from your account.
H: Ah, gotcha.
M: So, I guess you'll be holding down the fort.
H: Yep...
M: Ok, see you later.
H: See ya.
This was news to Harper. So now he owned the house. That was pretty nice. Now he could decorate it the way he wanted to.
He called up Darren and told him the news.
"Who is this?"
"It's Harper. I got a new phone. The newest one."
"Ah. What's up?"
"Well, my parents are moving into a nursing home, and told me I owned the house now."
"No way, same here. Which one?"
"Silent Elders. What about yours?"
"Same here!"
"Wow...you know what this means."
"Oh, yeah."
They were so excited about what was to come.
"ROOMATES!", they said in unison.
"Pack your stuff!"
"Ok. I'll be a few days though."
"Sure. Bye."
"Bye."
Harper knew this would be exciting. So he got ready. But he was still not happy about Mindy. But he would deal with it.
He dealt with everything else before.
