I put more pressure on the gas pedal, and opened my thin paper map a little wider placing it on the dashboard of my rubbish tin of a car. One hand on the wheel tapping along to the steady beat of green day playing softly in the background, my free hand fidgeting with a tattered, hotel business card the fine print reading "RUNAWAY HOTEL, A PLACE OF NEW BEGINNINGS."

Okay, so I had no idea where I was headed, this place wasn't on any maps, GPS systems, you couldn't find it on the internet and the New South Wales Council had no records for the hotel. There is a high chance there's nothing where the business card says you'll find the hotel, but I'm pretty confident in this places existence. I received this business card from my grandfather when I first started out as a "drug mule" for Sydney gangs, and learned that this was a place where I could create new beginnings, where my true identity could be destroyed and I could start a new life for myself, keeping even the most dangerous Australian men off my tracks. So now, at 3 o'clock in the morning, on a rainy Saturday I was driving to a hotel that may not exist, putting all of my faith in a ripped up business card from my late grandfather and dreaming of the new life I'd create for myself at Runaway Hotel.

I guess you're wondering how i found myself I this position, and the simple answer is that i let the idea of being wealthy take over the idea of me actually surviving. The gang I delivered class A drugs for offered me a higher paying job, in which I'd have to actually communicate with the suppliers and the customers opposed to my usual pick up, drop off and keep my mouth shut routine. After a week in the business my phone started blowing up with death threats. By Friday night I was so on edge that I packed my bags and left for runaway hotel. Whoever was sending me the death threats wasn't planning on stopping anytime soon, as 3 had come in as I reached the run down hotel at 4 o'clock on a Saturday morning.

As I pulled into the run down excuse of a hotel, I noticed that all but one of the bulbs surrounding the sign had blown out, and the one that was left was out of sight due to an excess amount of moths crowding the small bulb. I also noticed that I wasn't the on,y one pulling in at this very unusual hour, a bright green volkswagen beetle reversing into a carpark outside the small reception caught my eye as i hopped out of my toyota, I scuffed my feet along the gravel, suddenly realising what I'd done. A wave of fear washed over my body, and I picked up my walking pace rushing towards the reception. The adrenaline of running away from home took over and soon enough I was jogging towards the dimly lit reception. I felt a light thud on my back, and heard a quiet gasp as something fell onto the unforgiving gravel. I turned around to see a frazzled girl rubbing her temples lightly and whispering to herself.  I stood in awe for a few seconds, guiltily looking over the girl who looked to be around my age and I can safely say, I wasn't disappointed with what I saw. She had light brown curls that seemed to bounce down her back, a stunner of a figure and although she was frowning, the pout on her lips was somewhat sexy. I outstretched my hand for her, lightly laughing...
