Fairy Tales, legends, tales, stories told through the years. Some true, some false, and some a mix of both, they are told by men to serve a greater purpose, to teach a lesson of heroes and villains. But not all stories end happily, but... perhaps that is for the better. To learn, we must grow as people and rise above our mistakes. If we have the time, of course, the world is running on a finite lifespan, and we should make the most out of it.

Humans are just one example of beings who walk in the world, long have they fought to survive against the monsters who threaten their lives, who tear apart their homes and mercilessly kill all in their path. Luckily, humans aren't alone with help from special companions, they can rise above the monsters. These are known as spirits, beings of pure energy who can't be seen by those with low resonance. With the help of the spirits, men learned to control the energy that gave them life, their mana turned into a physical form called "artes", which they used to protect the ones they loved.

Despite this advantage, the monsters grew stronger and the future is looking bleak.

Prologue

"A long time ago, I was a human just like you; my sister and I would always play together and spend our lives without any worry. It's when the world found out who I was, that things turned for the worst. We went on the Savior's journey, we did exactly what we were told, but we were punished for failing. We became monsters, and it's my fault. I wanted a world where purity and malevolence were at peace. And because of it, Nereza suffered."

Nereza put wood in the fire when Eden came behind her and jumped on her. She yelped at first, then settled down when she realized who it was behind her. She continued to put wood into the fire when a child ran up to them, she looked scared. Eden crouched down to her height and asked if she needed help. The girl was alone, she didn't have parents, nor any siblings. Eden asked her if she wanted to stay and she agreed. The two siblings shared their meal with the girl and shared stories.

The girl came from an island far off the Hyland seas; there was a flood, or rather, the ocean itself was consuming the island. As the island sank, the inhabitants made boats from reeds and fled. They had stored food and water onto the boats along with themselves; they had nothing else to do and no one to contact who could help them. They were alone.

All they had were each other for support. They packed some medication, but it wasn't enough, mostly kids died during the time, and even if they made it to shore, not many were accepted by the kingdom. The nobles and royal families didn't know who they were, so they were sent from kingdom to kingdom to search for a home.

Eden and Nereza looked at each other, they hadn't heard anything like it before. They were raised in Hyland, so they had no idea what was going on in other countries, even less about the islands around the country. Even so, Eden nor Nereza were able to take care of the girl, not with their duties. They decided to leave the girl in the care of the nobles; in the morning they would take her into town and see what they could do from there.

Nereza was the one who looked after the girl over the nighttime; it was Eden who had a rough night. He had a nightmare about his journey; a woman's voice said a great tragedy was to occur, and the Savior was to meet his demise. That bothered him all morning and even into the afternoon. While Nereza said goodbye to the girl, Eden remained silent; he waited for the time when he was able to tell her about his dream.

Nereza looked at her brother with a scared look after he told her how to dream; she had never heard those words before, not from the prophets nor the guardian gods. When they began their journey, they were only told to dispose of the threat. Nereza smiled and reassured him that the day wasn't going to come; if they followed through with their mission, they could live a normal life.
