Summer Vacation

"Hurry up! I got a taxi!"

Guo Guo felt impatient at the two people crawling behind her. Ye Xiu was frantically smoking cigars as if the short flight had stressed him out so much. Tang Rou was dragging her bag behind him at a slow pace too.

It had taken weeks for her to plan this vacation and these two were not in the least interested because it was probably interfering with the summer event in Glory.

"Humph! Atleast pretend to be happy!"

"Why pretend?! I'm genuinely happy!" Said Ye Xiu as he continued smoking.

Guo Guo had already rolled down the windows of the taxi and so didn't mind the smoke.

"So am I!" Said Tang Rou with a smile.

"But the way you two act it doesn't seem so?!"

"Oh... it's been so long since I have seen so much sun, that's why." Came Ye Xiu's prompt reply.

"What about you Little Tang?!"

"My bag was heavy..."

"Come on boss?! Who doesn't like vacations! Besides it's summer, as a pro I'm accustomed to taking a break during summer."

"Oh! Okay... I thought you two were upset about missing the summer event..."

There was a deathly silence for a second which was finally interrupted by Ye Xiu.

"What event?!"

"The Glory Summer event...."

Guo Guo trailed off seeing the expression on their faces. She almost felt like kicking herself then.

All the way to the hotel the two of them lamented over the loss. They had their cards but only one laptop and seeing the rewards for the event the two continued to complain until Guo Guo finally couldn't take it!

"Look! We are gonna enjoy a nice vacation at the beach! Do some shopping! Have fun! Those are my orders!"

The two of them nodded meekly seeing her fierceness but Ye Xiu still couldn't help correcting her.

"The game is fun... and relaxing too."

Guo Guo just sighed exasperatedly. She could already feel a headache coming thinking of the long week ahead.

Most of the times she was glad Ye Xiu wasn't like normal guys but at times like these she couldn't help but wish he would loosen up and get a nice tan at the beach!

"Your rooms are on the eastern lawns ma'am! Since we are emphasising a quiet retreat there is no wifi."

Guo Guo looked back to see if either of her comrades had fainted from shock. Ye Xiu looked a bit pale when he heard this but he quickly recovered.

"Never mind. It would have been impossible for both of us to play here. We just have to find a cafe now..."

"WHAT CAFE?! NO GLORY FOR AN ENTIRE WEEK?!"

Tang Rou couldn't help but smile at her friend's outburst. She too was a bit disappointed that they couldn't participate in the event especially since it stressed a lot on killing monsters to get points.

But they had promised Guo Guo before that they would try to enjoy the week here. So she was prepared to endure it.

They rested at the hotel that day. Though the rooms were wonderful and the service hospitable the lack of wifi seemed to have made Ye Xiu grumpy.

Fortunately the hotel didn't prohibit smoking so he locked himself up in his room and contented with smoking the whole day away.

The next day the girls spent their time shopping. Ye Xiu was pulled along too to carry the bags. Finally they went down to the beach.

"So much fresh air! The water is so clear! Doesn't it feel lovely!"

Guo Guo almost regretted gushing out her feelings like this when she heard the response.

"Too much light..." Said Ye Xiu retreating towards a bus stand near the street.

"Too hot..." Said Tang Rou as she pulled her hat down over her eyes and followed him.

Guo Guo felt helpless seeing the two of them stand near the street ignoring the dazzling beach near her.

She went over to them and was about to admonish them when suddenly a person on the other side of the road caught her eye.

"Hey... isn't that..."

Ye Xiu caught her staring and glanced up. He suddenly became excited and shouted at the top of his voice.

"BIG-EYED WANG!"

The person who had been preoccupied with his cell phone suddenly froze. He turned to look at them and his eyes narrowed. The question was evident on his face:

"What are YOU doing here?"
