The next day they went back to Wang Jiexi's house. Surprisingly Ye Xiu chose to go out with Wang Jiexi instead of playing. After the two of them left the girls logged into the game.

Guo Guo looked around to see if she could find Wang Jielin too to play but she was still in her room.

The two of them played for a long time. It was a simple event actually. They were given chains of quests to complete which involved interacting with event-based NPC's, collecting items and killing specially spawned monsters.

Guo Guo was quite happy with her progress. She wasn't as far as the other two but apparently the event gave special bonuses to different classes of players. One bonus given to the Gunner class was a special route that only they could access.

Guo Guo was naturally thrilled to receive this special feature and had abandoned all other quests to pursue this. Though she fell behind in terms of the event, she gained lots of new equipment and surprisingly a good number of skill books. She finally sat back to review her stash when she noticed that Wang Jielin was in the room.

"Hello! Are you looking for your brother?"
"Yes."
"He and Ye Xiu went out."
"Ok."
"Would you like to join us? It's a pretty easy event and we could help you out!"

Guo Guo thought she was being very nice and friendly with her offer but the girl's flat response made her want to punch her.

"No."

Wang Jielin then crossed over to the sofa and sat down to read a magazine. Guo Guo looked at Tang Rou who shrugged back helplessly. The two of them ignored her and continued playing. Ye Xiu returned back alone after a while and directly logged in on the laptop.

The room was silent except for their continuous tapping when suddenly Ye Xiu cursed very loudly.

"What happened?" Asked Guo Guo startled. It was indeed a rare sight to see the game giving him trouble.

"Monster."

"Huh?!! Explain already!!"

Ye Xiu sat back staring at the screen.

"The boss monster for the quest appeared. Its the final one. No matter what I do, it doesn't die."

"What do you mean?"

"Nothing seems to damage it! Finally after I tried a whole bunch of tricks it took damage yet it didn't die!"

Guo Guo was puzzled too. The game was famous for not having any glitchy features but a monster that didn't die even at the hands of a God could not be anything else.

"Little Tang! Hurry up and get to this part yourself! Let me see if it's a class issue!"

Guo Guo understood Ye Xiu's reasoning and watched as Tang Rou sped up. Guo Guo regretted not having focused on the main quest now, but it was too late for her.

All Battle Mages had received a bonus feature for the event which allowed them to deal damage twice more than normal. Tang Rou was naturally delighted and blasted her way through easily until she faced the final boss.

It truly was a hideous monster and the developers had put in a lot of effort to design the creature and even create a detailed plot for it. But all this was wasted on players like Tang Rou, Ye Xiu and even Guo Guo.

Tang Rou charged into the battle. But it was exactly like Ye Xiu said. The boss just didn't die. It didn't have an HP bar with precise numbers but it was clearly empty after she finished her assault.

Tang Rou hit it again and again but it simply lumbered around without dodging.

"Write to the developers?" Asked Guo Guo.
"I doubt it's a glitch... Said Ye Xiu... it's already day 2 of the 3 day event. They would have corrected it by now if it were a glitch."

"Shall I reset and try again?" Asked Tang Rou.

Ye Xiu nodded and the two started the battle again. Ye Xiu told Guo Guo that she needn't waste her time watching them and insisted that she continue her special route as she may gain something useful if she finishes it.

The two continued to battle the boss but the situation didn't change. Wang Jiexi returned around then but even he had nothing to suggest.

He went off to his room to call his manager regarding certain Club matters. Ye Xiu even sent a message in the game chat asking if anybody had beaten the boss.

Only a few people had reached so far and they all mentioned that the boss was too strong for them. Finally Ye Xiu suggested that they should find better equipment that might add bonuses to their offence.

Tang Rou was about to express her agreement when Wang Jielin suddenly spoke.

"Why aren't you using the Great Timber Sword?"
