"Epsilon, rise."
Aw crap.
(Zoe/Star POV)
Percy? Really? He's not even royalty! I mean, I guess he is prince of the seas, but I don't think that counts. He is a good leader, though. And due to his loyalty, he'd be a good king. This may not be too bad.
Percy rose from his seat and kneeled in front of Chaos. "Epsilon, as Queen of the Universe, I have made the decision to make you my heir. In your 8,000 years with me, you have proven your worth time and time again. You are strong, reliable, and loyal. Do you accept the responsibility bestowed upon you?"
Percy hesitated a moment, before looking Chaos straight in the eyes saying, "I do, and swear to never misuse the power bestowed upon me. I will protect my kingdom at all costs, even if it requires me to give my life. May the Fates curse me should I ever use my position for evil."
Chaos smiled, and gestured for him to rise to his feet. "Then I pronounce you King Epsilon, ruler of the Universe and all in it." She shot a large black beam at his chest, and everyone expected him to fall backwards, but he stood his ground, accepting the power. I felt his aura flare up, and I was shocked at the sheer amount of power rolling off of him. It was even more than Chaos herself. Come to think of it, her aura seemed to have diminished. Oh my gods, did this mean--
"Thank you, Epsilon, for taking this burden off of me. I have begun to fade, and the power was becoming too much. This coronation was also my, shall we say, retirement party. You are now the king of everything." Percy opened his mouth. "Yes, even Zeus. If he does something unjust, you have every right to punish him." Our new king shut his mouth.
"I suppose I need to introduce myself to the Olympians again, don't I? And, what about my role as heir to the seas? Will that be passed to someone else? Triton, or one of the Cyclops's? And what about the girl I li- oops."
Chaos ensued. (No, not the primordial.) There was a huge burst of, 'what's her name?' 'when did you meet her?' do we know who it is?', and the like.
"Shut up, all of you!" Percy yelled in his commander voice. We all shut up. "Who I like is my business, and I'll tell you when I'm ready. Understood?" We all nodded in sync, and then looked to Chaos, who had started to answer Percy's questions.
"Yes, you need to reintroduce yourself to the Olympians as their kings. The role of heir to your father's kingdom will be passed back to Triton, and as long as the girl you like is immortal, there shouldn't be a problem, as long as she likes you back."
(Percy/Epsilon POV)
"Thank you, Chaos." She dismissed us, seeing as the coronation was over, and I headed back to my secret place.
Whenever we're back on Planet Chaos and I need some time to myself, I head to the top tower of the castle. I can see the entire city from there, and no one else knows about it. Well, Chaos might, it is her castle, but I doubt she would bother me.
I stretched out my wings and soared up to the tower, after making sure no one could see where I was going. I landed silently, and put up barriers, both for sound and to keep people out. And keep them safe. No one really knows about this, but one time when I was angry I came up here, and released a massive energy beam. If there hadn't been barriers, I probably would have destroyed half the city.
This was my safe spot. I cam up here whenever I needed to think. And right now, I desperately needed to think. I had just revealed my greatest secret; I like someone. And that was bad, because she swore to never date.
You see, about 50 years into training with Chaos, I started to get really homesick. And I wasn't homesick for a place, I was homesick for a person. Artemis. I started to have dreams about what it would be like if we had been dating, or what it would have been like if we were married, or had kids, etc. I had it bad, and I knew it. I wanted to go back to guarding them. I knew that time was frozen on Earth, but that still didn't mean I wasn't nervous. I'm sure there was someone more powerful than Chaos who could undo the time spell. I hoped not, otherwise I'd be in a lot of trouble when I got back.
I had brought a desk up to the tower in the middle of the night when no one could see me. In it was an endless amount of drawing supplies, and I used it frequently. Right now, I decided to re-draw my wedding scene, but this time, I was marrying Arty. It was ten times better than the picture I drew of Annabeth and I. This time, I put more detail into the wedding dress (It looked like Grover's, except more form-fitting), the venue (beach, duh), and the guests. Before, I only had the backs of heads, you couldn't tell who was who. This time, you could tell. Our parents were in the front row, even Leto, Artemis's mom. Chiron and the rest of the Olympians were right behind, and the rest were filled with close friends. On my side, there were all the members of the Elites, and a few choice Romans. On Arty's side, it was mostly filled with minor gods. My best man was Grover, and my bride's maid-of-honor was Thalia.
After I worked on my picture for about 4 hours, I decided people were starting to get worried. I released the barriers and floated down gently. Once I landed, I flashed back to my room. One of the abilities I gained when Hades blessed me was soul searching. I could basically focus on someone's soul, or aura, and find where they were in proximity to me. I found everyone, including Chaos, in the game room. I decided to head that way.
As I neared my destination, I could hear shouting. "Where do you think he could have gone! It's been hours, Leo. Hours! And he just disappeared!" It sounded like Silena. She was usually the one to worry about the members of the team, especially after she and Charles had a baby. Her maternal instincts went into overdrive.
"I'm here, I'm here," I said as I entered. "I just needed to cool off for a little bit."
"Where were you? None of us could sense you anywhere!" Zoe screamed at me.
"That is for me to know, and for you to wonder eternally," I answered cryptically.
"Well, you're here now. And it's a good thing, too. I've got a mission for you," Chaos said.
(Chaos POV)
Oh boy, were they not going to like this. I prepared to flash out after I delivered the news, I didn't want to deal with 8 angry gods and 1 angry primordial. (A/N: Percy became a primordial after he became king)
"YouneedtogobacktoCampHalfHellandbeinanotherwar," I said quickly.
"Slower, please?" Michael asked.
I took a deep breath. "You need to go back to Camp Half Hell and be in another war." I flashed out before they could process what I said and start yelling at me. I left a scroll behind, one that contained the new prophecy. I should let them cool off for about a day before I confront them again.
Γεια! That means hi in Greek. Apollogies for the delay in updating, but I hit some major writers block. I hope this chapter satisfied you. Also, since Chapter 10, we gained 3.7K reads! Eeek! Thank you to everyone who reads this, it means so so much to me. I know I haven't been the best in updating this book, but I've also been focusing on writing an original. Would any of you be interested in reading it? If yes, please, please tell me, and I will try to have the first chapter of it out so you can see what it's like. I may or may not have a bonus chapter out for Christmas, we'll see what my schedule allows. If not, I will see you in *gasp* 2019!
