The door knob turned, and the door itself clicked open. No one lived here. Is it even possible for such a treasure to be won by such an explorer? Perhaps. Tears of joy and suspense poured from the girl's face. It was worth it. Everything she had done before led up to this prize. It was her's now, and she had to defend it.
She stepped in. The blue cracked tiles prevaled many holes that led to cascading darkness below. You wouldn't want to fall in there. Who could know how far the abyss extended? One would die instantly if given the chance to slip.
The girl patched up some of the most dangerous holes with a few pieces of wood she found a couple nights ago. That should hold it off until I can go back to the shoppes.
She noticed the kitchen was missing a lot of appliances. There was no furnace for cooking, and there was one chest, a few feet from the countertop. A grim crafting area sat in the dusty corner. She then put a candle up on the wall above it, greatly deafeating the night's darkening grip on things around it. That's better. She was suprised how much a little light can change things.
At least there was a large window behind the kitchen. This would mean that buying glass wouldn't have to occur as often. However, she hadn't seen the upstairs yet. A small broken staircase led to the loft above.
I have some extra materials for building stairs. The girl plotted in her mind. She got down on her hands and knees, bloodied and scarred from numerous journeys in the land, and began to patch the holes in the staircase. Perfect.
Once the holes were patched, the girl then slowly climbed up into the darkness, in awe of what she could find. A few large windows covered the tiny walls, and a small nook with two beds filling it's space lay right ahead.
Next to the nook was a door leading outside. Why would anyone want to go outside from here? The girl was confused. She then reached out to the doorknob once more, and when she rotated it, it clicked open, revealing a miniature step-down porch. Surely no one could reach this small haven up above the main floor, so she decided to declare her ownership of the land, and set her home there. Whenever she would travel, her compass would lead her here. The girl was happy for once in her experience.
She was a pretty girl with medium-lengh brown hair and bright green eyes. She was very pale, but was often covered in dirt and scars from exploring the land for her own survival. She wasn't very social, considering the fact that she was always alone, but she was always willing to talk to someone if given the chance. Not many people talked to her though, because she had a low rank in society. Infact, possibly the lowest. Survival was definitly harder for one with a low rank, if not impossible. This girl seemed to be managing though.
Her name? Why would someone need that? This girl had almost forgotten her's. No one ever beckoned her, but if they did, they should have called her Lazer. Her full name was LazerEclipse, but almost no one used a person's full name when talking to them. It was to inconveinient.
Sunrise was dawning, and Lazer was still looking into the beyond desert. The back of the house was woodland desert, and the front was pure desert.
She realized that if she didn't create a residence here soon, it would be the end of her once more.
