I ran as fast as my legs could take me. I fled all through the forest in a daze, my legs aching with every sprint.
Everywhere I went, every place looked the same, but I didn't care about where I was going, as long as it was far away from those terrible creatures that were chasing me.
They weren't normal creatures at all, I could sense it. They were possessed by some sort of unspeakable evil from the underworld. That's why I couldn't fight them.
I couldn't run for long either. I had to stop and rest soon, the slower I got, the more I could hear their terrible cries.
My wings were tied and battered up by the strange chains they wielded at me, so flying wasn't an option. I couldn't fight back with magic anyway, the only thing I knew how to do was make soup with a bunch of ingredients I didn't have!
I remembered long ago, my mother taught me how to make it, she
did many things for me. She was the only living thing I ever saw as a puplit, since she always kept me safe and secret in our hidden shelter, away from others.

I was reminiscing all our moments together as I fled. Those days were over now.
I still remembered when she told me I was old enough to go out and learn about the world because someday, I would have to know it all. Something like this was going to happen and she couldn't be there for me anymore.
She told me I needed to know them because I would have to do something about them someday, but I couldn't do it alone. Now she's gone, and I don't know where. She disappeared around the time these horrendous monsters came about.
I was so confused, it angered me. If I couldn't do it alone, why did she leave? What happened to her? What "help" do I get?

I slowed down and listened as hard as I could to see if they were still following me. I didn't hear a trace of them, so I was safe... for now.
Suddenly, hunger struck me deep within. I was starving.
I was trying to find something to eat, until I heard it. It was the most thrilling sound I heard all day, the sound of the best kind of food possible! The sound of a flightless bird with the greatest meat to eat!
I remembered how mother always came back with these animals! They were small, but they tasted scrumptious! I remember how she called them, "Chickens" or something like that, and how they tasted so good because they were raised by other creatures called, "humans".
She also taught me how amazing and special humans were, and how they made such fantastic things no other creature could do. She told me of how they took care of them, and how they made them so delicious by nurturing them with other delicious food!
She said humans were very important, and to respect them.
(But she did steal a little bit from them just so I could try a bit of their yummy food.)
She took, "goats", and "cows", and "pigs", and of course chickens!
So if it's okay to take a little bit for certain times, then there couldn't be a better time then this time!

I stalked out of the forest and there I saw it, a strange, wooden, shelter the humans built for the chickens. I haven't ever gotten very close to human made things. Normally because when I did, humans attacked me. In which kind of made me question my mother's teachings about how awesome they are, but she did say they were dangerous too.
I got out into the open and saw whole bunches of human makings! The makings were filled with even more delicious food!
But one, I smelt, had humans. Which was in the biggest construction of them all!

The humans inside were asleep, so I was safe.
As hungry as I am, though... I wonder how many is in there?

Sniffff... four humans, Sniff Snifff...  one adult male, another female, Snifffff... A child, female, Sniffffff... and an, older, sort of... child... male.
My nose got caught up in that one, he was different. I smelt a bit more... Was he awake?
The more I smelt him, the more strange it was. I seemed strangely connected to that older sort of child male. Was this child more important than I thought? The psychic senses I sometimes got swept through me... He was important. More important than he thinks he is now.

What is it about this human? I wondered,
Is this really what mom was talking about? The "Help" I was suppose to get?
