The kiss only lasts for a few seconds before both Alex and I pull away.
"I should go." I tell him and he drops his hands from my neck and back, shoving them into his pockets.
"Yeah, it's late." Alex agrees, his face red, flushed from the kiss we just shared.
"I'll see you soon." I tell Alex, promise fills my voice.
"Okay." Alex says. I step around him and begin walking down the hallway back to the building's exit. I hear the door to his room open and close quietly.
My lips are tingling from the kiss, the sensation overwhelming. I've never felt like this after a kiss before.
I shake my head, trying to clear my thoughts. There is no way I felt anything from the kiss with Alex. No absolutely not. This is purely a bet and nothing more.

"So what happened with Alex last night? I didn't see you again after you went to find him."
"I'm surprised you even noticed that. You were certainly busy with Harley." I tease Kiera.
"Oh shut up." Kiera says and throws a fry at my face. "I want to hear about you and Alex. How much progress did you make with the bet?"
"It's only been one night Kiera. Calm down." Why is she so fucking excited about this stupid bet with some stupid kid? Surely, this can't be entertainment for her. Then again, she does love drama.
"Sorry. I'm just excited for the details. You are going to share the details right?"
"Do I really have to? Isn't the video confession enough?" I ask.
"No, Gemma. Not for me." Kiera tells me, fiercely. "As your best friend, I want all the details. Whatever goes down between you and Alex, I want to hear about it, starting with last night."
"Fine." I give in. "I drove him back to the dorms and on the way we stopped for ice cream."
"Ice cream?" Kiera raises an eyebrow. "That's the most common date in the book."
"Do I look like I give a shit about how common a date is? A date is a fucking date, if you even want to call it that."
"Hey," Kiera raises her hands in defense. "I wasn't saying it was a bad idea, I'm just saying it was a bit predictable."
"Why am I even sitting here, listening to you go on and on about dates when you and Harley can't even get your shit together and call whatever is going on between you what it really is, which is a relationship?"
Kiera lets out a laugh. "There is no relationship between Harley and I, we just mess around, you know that, Gemma."
I really don't give a shit about whatever Harley and Kiera classify themselves as, but at least I've distracted Kiera into talking about her and Harley rather than play twenty questions with me about Alex and I, because there really isn't much to tell. I've told her most of what happened anyway, besides for the kiss at the end of the night outside his shared dorm room with Harley.
"Yeah, whatever." I say and put the last fry on my plate into my mouth. "Thanks for lunch." I tell Kiera as I pick up my phone from the table and slide it into the front pocket of my denim shorts.
"What? No way. I should be thanking you for lunch since you're paying."
I shake my head at Kiera. "I paid last time. It's your turn. Besides, I have somewhere I need to be." I say and stand up from the table.
"Somewhere with a certain boy with brown hair and green eyes?" Kiera questions, teasingly.
"Exactly." I nod, although it's not the truth. I'm not exactly sure what to do the next time I see Alex because of the kiss. People kiss all the time and it doesn't mean anything, but what if it meant something to him.
"Fine. But just this once." Kiera crosses her arms. "And you need to give me details the next time I see you and it better not be as disappointing as it was this time." She adds.
"Alright. I'll tell you whatever the fuck you want to know."
"Laters, bitch." Kiera says as I begin to walk away. I turn back around and blow her a kiss, putting my middle finger up at her, she repeats my action with a laugh as I walk through the doors of the diner.
