Hidden Love

Chapter 4 ( A Mystery)

Minerva had a free period and was having a cup of tea, sitting stagent behind her table enjoying some peace and quite.

Then out of nowhere Agrus came running into the room with Poppy and Albus on his tale.

Minerva placed her cup delicately down onto her table and arose from her seat her brows knitted in confusion.

Albus gave Minerva a Serious but kind look. "Severus found something in the Forbiden Forest and askes of us to meet him there immediatly."

With that they did'nt wait for Minerva but turned and fast walked towards the Forbidden Forest.

Minerva quickly left her classroom catching up with the others. Her heart nearly jumped out of her chest when they reached Severus and she noticed a dead woman floating in the air besides him.

Before the others could speak Minerva shakily asked. "What is the meaning of this?"

She watched as Severus sighed. "Agrus called me early on to come see to something here at the Forbidden Forest. So I did and found them, what ever did this to them was gone before I even found them."

Poppy ran forward and started working on the floating woman but moved on to the baby when she realized that there was nothing left that she could do for the woman.

Once Poppy checked on the baby she said to Albus. "The woman has been dead for a whole 35 minutes, she has deep slash wounds to her neck and abdorman. As for the baby girl, she has no serious injuries just a slight little nick of a cut under the chin."

Albus gazed at the woman in thought wondering who or what could have caused this.

Before Albus could think the mess through Minerva spoke up with rised eyebrows. "Two days ago Harry told me that when he was on detention with Hagrid in the woods, he saw a hooded cloaked person drinking an unicorns blood. Do you think it possible that the same person who killed the unicorn could have done this?"

Albus fiddled with his long white beard very deep in thought. "It could be but remember this Minerva that person drank from the unicorn. Where as in this situation the woman died from deep slash wounds that could have either been caused by an animal with long claws or a slashing spell. The slashing spell could not cause such deep and direct cuts but an anmial can. So it is a very possible that an animal did this to the woman in close range. The baby did not get injured as she should have because her mother was protecting her."

Everyone nodded in agreement to what Albus said but Severus found this situation off, something was not making sense. Why would an animal harm a woman and child if they did not dilibratly inflict harm but the other question was what were they doing in the forest in the first place?

"Poppy get this woman out of here I don't want the students witnessing this, I'll come and talk about the rest of this at hospital wing once I am done here." Poppy nodded and grabbed the floating woman into her arms and sprinted off. Dumbledoor then turned to Severus. "As for you Severus the baby will be in your care untill futher notice."

Severus gaped at Albus in shock. "You want me to take care of this brat, it's bad enough that I am forced to take care of a school of stupid two faced snobish students."

Minerva winched. "Severus that was uncalled for."

Severus ignored Minerva and concetraited on Albus. "Severus my boy, I am only asking you to take care of her untill we found out if she has any other family members. Untill we get to the bottom of this."

Hating the situation that Albus placed him in Severus accepted the order. "Fine I'll take care of her untill futher notice but I am not doing this for you, I am doing it for the child's sake. Besides I don't know why you always ask me to do your dirty work, there are other professors that you can use to your advantige"

With that Severus stormed off cradeling the little baby in his arms.

Once everyone left and it was only Minerva and Albus left standing alone outside Minerva looked at the headmaster. "I had also asked myself that same question Albi. Why do you always let Severus do everything for you?"

Albus lifted his eyebrow at the nickname Minerva gave him but said nothing about it. "Well you see Minerva I am trying to teach him a lesson. You won't understand it now but soon enough it will."

Minerva crossed her arms delicately shaking her head at the man. "Sometimes I really do wish to see how your mind works Headmaster."

Albus gave Minerva one of his rare smiles. "You'll be suprised."

Poppy had placed the woman on one of the empty beds and was busy wipping the blood off the woman's visable flesh. The wounds were oddly deep, she had never seen wounds like these before.

Poppy picked up her clip board and quill making notes of the wounds, remembering to write the day's date and all other important things.

This whole thing made no sense to Poppy and she felt slightly on edge.

With her medical gloves on Poppy messeured the lenth and with of the wound with her middle finger and index finger.

With all that done Poppy took a picture of the woman then covered her with a white sheet.

With that done Poppy wrote a letter to the Minister of Magic and owled the picture along with the letter to them.
