Adoras pov♤ third person

Adora's eyes were sore when she opened them again. Her cheeks were like dried up river beds with the ghostly shadows of water. Meeting up with Glimmer and bow she quickly recovered her shaken state. They both gave her a gentle smile, before Bow's smile grew.

"It's great to have the friend squad back together! No but seriously we have been waiting for hours for you to come out of there." Bow shivered. He was right though, it didnt feel like she had been in there for even an hour. Feeling guilty Adora flashed a smile before heading forwards, leading the way through the whispering trees. Glimmer gave Bow her "seriously" glare before following after the blondes long strides.

The rest of the walk was mostly quiet, besides Bow talking on and on about what he saw whilst waiting outside the temple. Keeping a steady stride Adora didnt respond to any of it, though multiple times she almost did. Till something Bow said would remind her of the nightmares shes been having. She would fall right back into her vow of silence. Nearing Bright Moon Glimmer now spoke up, her voice was more hushed and gentle.

"Adora um. So the whole rebellion knows how hard you've been trying to protect everyone and well. We decided to surprise you." Smiling excitedly Glimmer stopped walking and so did Bow. Turning around to look at them Adora softly tried to smile, clearing her throat she looked to the castle.

"Y-yeah .. that sounds good. Actually" happily shrieking Bow went and hugged the whole squad together. Rolling her eyes Adora kept a small smile, maybe she would be able to forget for a while.

For the next hour Adora had been told to stay in Glimmer's room. She wasnt told to get all dressed up, though she was forced to change out of her dirtied work clothes. Looking in the mirror she wore a soft red shirt with a white symbole of the moon on it. She also was wearing black short shorts. Normally she wouldnt like wearing shorts like that but they were comfy compared to her normal long constricting pants. Starting to get anxious Adora paced around the room. Hearing the door open she turned around to a still over excited Glimmer and Bow. Ushering her forward they completely pushed her all the way down the hall. Entering the center room where all the rebellions meetings were held ribbons were set up. Most of them were She-Ra's colors, red, blue, gold, white, and some leftover colors like purple. On the table a bunch of sweets were set out, adorned with the princesses chairs along with the princesses of course. They all stood up and met her with smiles.

"Welcome Back!!" A loud pop went off as Sea Hawk pulled one of those streamer poppers. Smiling tiredly Adora walked forward herself. Greeting everyone she finally sat down at the table. Diving in she enjoyed some of Bow's specialty brownies, along with some of Perfuma's fancy fruit salad. For once she was actually free of her stress, for a little while. But eventually the celebration turned more into a recap on what had happened so far.

"We need to make a move." Was all they kept saying, back and forth like broken alarm clocks. Glimmer carefully slowed the princesses down. Looking to Adora she smiled and nodded.

"Soo Adora. We have a new mission and sense your back and all rested up its time we addressed it with you." Pausing Glimmer leaned back in her chair. "To explain.. we all believe that we should work on well... taking on the Fright Zone. Parts of the zone arent even used by the Horde. So if we set up sections of garded territory, we should be able to hold the Horde steady. Keep them busy." Pausing Glimmer took a sip of her drink. Clasping her hands together under the table Adora gulped.

"Sooo im guessing i need to .. distract the Horde in the mean time while the territories are set up?" "Precisely!"

Everyone was waiting now, waiting for Adora to say the word. Say that she could do it, that it was a go. Getting up suddenly Adora felt sick. Looking at all the princesses gazes she quickly cleared her throat.

"I-its a great .. uh plan! I am all for this mission!" Just when she thought they didnt believe her words clapping arose. Sighing with relief she watched as the princesses got up and said their goodbyes. Even Glimmer and Bow left Adora as she stood froozen at her chair. They left quickly giggling, going off into the hall.

Back in her room she tossed and turned, digging her fingers into the rips she made in the bed. Its was about 4am now, and the sun was just starting to rise to a new day. Adora hadnt fallen asleep at all do she didnt experience any of the nightmares. But she felt them there. Feeling her hair move and tickle her face she sat upright, the window to her room was open. The curtains were flowing like red northern lights in the sky. Getting up she slowly approached the window, looking out she expected to see a spy, an enemy. Instead she saw her nobly gay steed, SwiftWinds.

"Hey Adora, now i know its late but, i sensed that you were troubled." "Oh really..." rolling her eyes Adora willingly climbed onto the horses back. He now lifted aloft into the air. The cold wind made her shiver but it also calmed her down a bit. Landong finally she found herself in a open field, the grass was soft on her bare feet as SwiftWinds now laid completely down onto the ground.

"Come sit! .. we need to talk." Groaning Adora plopped down next to the horse, looking out at the sky.

"What...if this is another lecture about your revolution, im taking away your ability to talk." Snorting the horse quickly shook out, looking at Adora with a look of knowing.

"Adora.. im here to give you some advice for that aching heart. Your being distracted by Catra right? Have you ever thought about what that means?" Pausing she stared into Swiftwind's eyes. Starting to take his words seriously she looked back up into the sky.

"I-i dont know.. i do know that i miss her a lot. More then i've missed anyone in my whole life. I-i think its more then just the pain of loosing a friend. I-" taking a deep breath she gazed back into the horses eyes. "I sometimes.. among these nightmares. Have completely oppisite thoughts. Thoughts that make me feel all warm and make me throw my blankets off in bed." Choking out a chuckle Adora leaned forward as the pain hit her twice as hard, with the realization. Another tear started to fall down her face.

"... how do you ... go about wanting to be with someone that you left so suddenly. How do you go about loving your enemy? ... ive h-hurt her so bad SwiftWind. How do i make up for that?..." as she started to sob the horse quickly leaned closer. Supportong Adora as she limply collasped and hugged into the warmth of the comfort. The truth had hurt her more then the unknowing did. And as she cried once more into the night, SwiftWind let a soft and tired smile draw to his muzzle.

Maybe the winds would finally bring some change.
