The demons Angel and Alastor came back every night that week. Each time, I would take them back to the VIP room, give them each a couple of lap dances, and sent the happy saps on their way. I wasn't complaining, money was money after all. But one night after watching them leave, I wandered over to the bar for a drink.
"Jack and Coke, please." I smiled my most charming smile at the bar tender. The gruff looking man returned the smile and poured me my drink. I sipped it as I scoured the room for my next target. Alastor and Angel's little visits might have paid my rent, but mama needed her nails done. I was about to saunter over to a poor fool who looked like he would empty his wallet if I smiled at him, but then I noticed Alastor come back in. He looked around for a moment before spotting me.
"Well hello again, my dear." Alastor smiled charmingly at me, leaning against the bar.
"Back for another dance?" I winked at him, still nursing my drink. He chuckled low in his throat.
"Actually, I was hoping for a bit more." He replied. I paused. What the fuck was he propositioning?
"Be very careful about what you say next." I scowled at him, ready to toss my drink in his face if my suspicions were correct.
He held up a hand, smiling still, "You misunderstand, my dear. I was merely going to ask if you would like to join me tomorrow night for dinner."
"Just dinner?" I asked, prodding. In my profession, just dinner or a date could mean something very very different.
"Just dinner." He confirmed, "Any other suggestion would make my dear mother roll over in her grave." I gave him a slight smile. Fifty percent of the guys that frequented here were too scared to say hello to me, much less ask me out. The other fifty percent were gross scumbags that the bouncers wound up throwing out onto their asses and banned from the club.
"Alright," I agreed, "You can pick me up here tomorrow night. I get off at ten." A wide Cheshire cat-like grin spread across his face at my concession.
"Perfect." Then he actually bowed, took my hand, and kissed it, "I will see you then, my dear."
