"I'd rather argue with you, angel, then laugh with someone else."

By Sylvia DayTink's POV
This wedding was supposed to my chance with Peter, I wanted to finally make my move and be damned with the consequences but things have changed with Wendy in equation. I can't steal someone else's boyfriend even if he is my first and most likely, last love. That's just not me. Maybe there really is no future for us.
We ate our food in complete silence after the wedding date fiasco. Beth came in twice to talk to us and mostly glare at Peter who remain confused to what he did to incur Beth's wrath. She is pretty scary when she's angry but he soon left with Wendy after receiving an emergency call fr work. He didn't even ask me to come with him, no, he asked her to. Huh, whatever. I'm not jealous. No, I'm sick of this unrequited love crap. I'm gonna get over it soon. So now here I am sitting with Drew alone once again waiting for Sarah and he gang to arrive. He insisted on waiting with me. He's such a sweetheart.
"Umm..Tink?" Drew gains my attention.
"Yep?" He looks nervous for some reason. "What's wrong Drew? You seem nervous?"
He laughs a little losing some of his nervousness. "You know you're a mystery, babe. You seem to read my emotions so well yet the one emotion that I want you to.." He shakes his head slightly and continues. "Nevermind. I wanted to ask you since Peter has a date and I don't, would you like to be my date?"
"I would love to Drew but someone kinda asked me already."
"Who?" He asks in a clipped voice and his eyes now hold a weird possessive gleam.
"Tim." My answer seems to make him lose the tight hold over the poor glass of water and his shoulders sag. "Why don't you bring Olivia? She's a sweetheart?" I suggest as I recall his girlfriend. She is a blonde bombshell with an amazing personality.
"I don't think she'll appreciate the invite."
"Why?" I narrow my eyes suspiciously. If he tells me he hurt her or cheated on her then I'm going to punch his face.
"We broke up 5 months ago and not on good terms." He wince as if recalling that bad break up. "It just didn't work out."
"But why? She was great. She was really pretty and kind and fun. A complete package."
"She was amazing but she wasn't.." Drew is cut off from his explaination when a chair screeches next to mine. I look startled to find Sarah, Kim and Holly.
"Hey, didn't see you come in." I greet them all with a smile.
"Of course you didn't, you were too busy flirting with Mr Hotty pants over here." Kim snorts at me and turns to Drew with a flirtatious smile. "Hey, handsome."
"Eww, Kim. Don't flirt with my cousin." Sarah scrunches her nose.
"Ladies," Drew nods at them with his charming smile. "It's my cue to leave. Enjoy the shopping cus, see you at the wedding. Bye Tink, I'll pick you up for dinner." He kisses Sarah's cheek and then mine and turn to leave before I can argue about driving myself. I look at both Holly and Kim eyeing his retreating ass with a sigh and notice it myself. Huh, he does have a nice ass. Biteable.
"Not you too, Tink. It's like I'm surrounded by nymphos." Sarah groans but then turns to me. "But I think he'll be better for you than Peter. Maybe you should give him a try if not anything it might make Peter jealous enough to stake his claim."
"Alright, first, No one stakes a claim on me. What am I? A last slice of pizza? And second, Drew's just a friend, he doesn't see me that way. I mean yes he asked me to be his date for the wedding but that's just him. I think he's doing me a favor so I don't have to go alone. And third, nymphos? Really? I haven't even.." I whisper the last part not realizing that I said it out loud.
"Tink? Honey, Are you still a virgin?" Sarah asks tentatively but she's not really asking as the unattractive beetroot color of my cheek is enough for her to know that I am.
What the heck is wrong with being a virgin. It's my body, my choice. And I haven't felt that way towards anyone but Pete before, not that he'll ever notice. Jiminy Crickets! I'm going to die a virgin, aren't I? I start hyperventilating.
"Hey, hey. It's alright. It isn't a big deal. You're just 23. It'll happen. How about we go to a club after shopping and pick ourselves some boys? Sarah can cheer for us." Holly suggests.
"Can't. I have a business dinner. Let's just get this shopping over with. We can go after the wedding."
"Thank God. Let's just go. I don't have time for drama." Kim says flicking her hair behind her shoulder and goes out the restaurant and we all follow suit.
After 6 hours of torture which most people call shopping, we finally found our dress. Sarah had selected hers already so today was all about bridesmaids dresses. I wasn't looking forward to wearing a hideous frilly dress. Sarah took pity on us which is how I ended up with a pretty off shoulder light pink satin dress with a thigh high slit.
I reach home at 5 and almost moan in pleasure when I dive in my bed. I decide to get ready for the corporate dinner. Drew will be here by 7. I run myself a bath in my Jacuzzi and lay in the comfortable warm water with vanilla scented bubbles. After an hour of soaking and reading my favorite book, Pride and Prejudice, I get up and look in the mirror. My body resembles a rasin with the amount of prunes I have. I decide to wear a different dress for the dinner than the one I wore all day.
I select a deep neck blood red cocktail dress which accentuates my boobs with a side slit and clings to my body like second skin. It's a dress that I bought myself 3 years ago but never had the courage to wear but what do I have to lose? The love of my life is with another girl and even if not her, he'd never look at me other than his friend.
I do a little heavier makeup than usual and paint my lips red. I then wear my 5 inches nude Jimmy choo heels and admire my handy work in the mirror. The doorbell rings at exactly ten minutes to 7. Drew is nothing if not punctual but that's not who I find myself staring at when I open the door.
