I lost them

Vincent's POV

After the call from my boss around 3 pm, I left as soon as I could. It was a last minute call, so, I had to be really quick. I traveled down to Brixton to look out for Carlton, my gang's worst enemy. He wasn't only the enemy of my gang but he was a well-known criminal that was the enemy of many others. And not to mention his son Jabare, the biggest fraud to ever walk this earth. I hated both of them, I wanted them dead but that my friend, was one of the hardest things to do. The mafia that Carlton created was beyond destructible, endless gangs and other mafias tried to ended his success but yet none of them were victorious in doing so.

The message was brought to my attention that Jabare was staying at some old apartment building hiding out from his crazy ex- girlfriend's father; Pablo. Poor girl, Jabare was a fucking idiot, always breaking hearts I hoped karma destroyed him one day. As for me, I'll never be like him, I hardly ever fall in love but when I do, I'm a committed man. And I guessed that was my advantage to getting through this life without having girls labeling me as a fuck boy. After getting to Brixton, my task was to track Carlton down and mark his every move. Carlton and his crew were operating another Multi-Million dollar money laundering shipment again. This man had literally been lowkey improving and staying under the radar even though doing such a business could lead the feds onto you in no time. For some reason, he or any of his members were never caught in the act. Of course, he was on the run, but it was not like the other day he came out a criminal. He had been on the run for years now, I heard.

After some of my gang members suggested that I waited at the cafe right opposite the apartment building Jabare was hiding out in. I managed to track Carlton down in no time. The muscular old age man wasn't hard to noticed, he was different from someone of his age. He aged but his good looks still possessed the most striking authority and his tattoos were the most sold out thing about him. Especially the one on the back of his neck which was the symbol of his mafia. Before I got out the car I wore the darkest sunglasses that I had with me. I had to keep the movements of my eyes hidden. Carlton had never seen me before, I was new to my gang, I was trafficked from Ecuador five months ago. So there wasn't a chance that Carlton and his son saw me before but what I knew was that they definitely heard about my legacy already.

I followed Carlton into the building, and I sat in the waiting area targeting his next move. Before he could have asked any questions a girl distracted his attention. I got a glimpse of her, she was absolutely gorgeous. At first, the atmosphere between her and Carlton was confusing for me but then things started to become more comprehensive. I was completely shocked by what I've heard, she was once his Foster daughter. She even mentioned Garfield's name; that was my fucking boss! And what the fuck? I never knew that Carlton and Garfield were a thing. How did I not know about that? The entire situation was shocking to me, I might have just found out something that I shouldn't have found out about. After the girl left, seconds later the fraud himself; Jabare came running up to Carlton. Carlton was leaving even though he didn't go up to Jabare's apartment but when he saw Jabare running up to him, he stopped.

"Dad what are you doing here, Alana just messaged and informed me that you were here" Jabare quietly shouted to Carlton.

"I was just leaving, look at this" Carlton lifted up his hand showing Jabare a message on his apple watch, which obviously said something important. Because after that Jabare ran back to the elevator which he didn't want to wait on so he took the stairs. He later came down with his bag and both of them rushed out. I got up and tried following them but before I could have gotten in my car and headed behind them, a group of calypso dancers blocked my way and I lost them.
