That Monday, November 7, 1994, Kris happily walked to the park. I thought I won’t be able to go there for a while even if it’s repaired… if Kim wouldn’t see me. However, he and Kim survived their first real fight, and he is about to meet her in the park to go to school and tell her something. But first, he listened to Spin The Black Circle from Pearl Jam’s latest album, playing in his stereo now.
As he headbanged, he wondered about that call from Lui the night before. He had agreed to help them rehearse but… Unlike JC and what he calls a band, Fatale is a great band in its own right… why would Lui need help…?
In the end Kris dismissed it, the girls of Fatale are BANDED’s friends after all. However, he also needs to tell Kim about it, for he believes in the golden rule. If he doesn’t want things hidden from him, he has to tell Kim as well.
She was already waiting in the bench when he got to the park.
“Good morning, dear…” She said with a kiss to him, which was answered.
“Did you sleep well, dear…?” Kris asked.
“Yes… how about you…?”
“Oh yes, and also…” Kris told Kim about Lui’s call asking for help in rehearsing.
Kim didn’t see anything wrong as well, and so she agreed.
“And thanks dear…” Kim said, “After what I did to you I thought you’ll get back at me or something…”
“Will I do that to you…?” Kris said, gently stroking her hair and of course next came…
And so after that they walked to school, laughing, completely forgetting about what happened just two nights before. When they got to Blue Hills, many of their fellow students were surprised. Before they arrived, the gossip was that they had broken up due to JC de Cepeda’s sudden dedication of his performance to Kim. Many had also seen a crying Kim leaving the school that night so it’s safe to assume.
So now, as they walked they felt like a real celebrity couple looked upon by the multitude. Most are admiring how loyal they are to each other, and by the time they arrived at the third floor landing, there was a ‘welcome committee’. Robbie, Noy, Ernie, Paolo and Tina were there.
“Wow! You two seriously rock!!” Noy said.
“Yes”, said Robbie, “you’re like the rock prince and princess down there.”
“C’mon, stop…” Kim said, blushing already.
“It’s like nothing happened…” Paolo said.
They chatted for a while and then Nancy came to them to announce something.
“Umm… first of all, Kris and Kim, you’ll be singing the National Anthem and the Blue Hills Hymn respectively in the assembly later… and our report cards would be ready later as well.”
They were more excited about Kris and Kim singing in the assembly than their grades, the couple most of all. Yes, they have been performing for months and had greatly improved their act… but the school assembly… is a very different thing, they both agreed…
Anyway, the Assembly came and Kris and Kim did their parts. Again, their fellow students marveled at the two, not just because of their singing but how quick they had patched up after that incident just two nights before. But there were a few people who weren’t happy at all… or at least appeared to be…
The gang was headed to the canteen that lunch when they were met by JC. He looked very disappointed seeing Kris and Kim very happy and holding hands.
