Sunday, March 26, 1995.
Kris woke up late (half past 10 AM), as he got home almost near midnight after such a memorable performance. After their live stint at RJTV 29’s Local Jam, the three bands (BANDED, Fatale and Vipazz) went to the Bar near Holy Light Institute (yes, that same fateful one from Chapters 6-7 that almost all the main characters except Kris, Kim and Nancy had nicknamed ‘Heartbreak Bar’) and got… quite a bit (?) drunk. Well… at least this time nothing happened between Kris and Lui… They invited the other members of the gang but they agreed it was already late.
He lay in bed and still couldn’t believe it…
I was on TV… me… Kris Rosales… a lanky, very normal looking 15 year old boy… However many people say that I am so lucky having Kim Sakamoto and then Nancy Lim as my girlfriends…
Still… it was TV! Me… playing guitar and singing…
His parents and sister congratulated him when he got home (yet scolded him a bit because it was very late and he’s a bit tipsy). Anyway, they videotaped that whole episode of Local Jam. They watched until almost 1 AM during which Kris called Nancy but her dad (oh no…) answered (sounding a bit pissed) saying his daughter’s asleep.
So Kris, Tony, Carmen and Thea watched the performances.
So… that’s how I always look during the performances… not bad… although… I think I’d have to cut my hair just a bit…
And after that, he slept happily and so woke up too late… as Thea’s knocking on the door again.
“Alright, alright… what is it?!”
“Kuya…” Thea said as Kris opened the door. “Ate Nancy’s been calling all morning… and she is again…”
“Oh… sorry…” And he ran downstairs and it was the first time ever that he did so after his sister woke her up.
He picked up the phone quickly and said with voice still slurred, “Hello good morning dear…”
“Good morning dear…” said Nancy in the other line, “Umm… first congratulations and… can we meet…?”
“Of course… I’ll be there… or… since it’ll be almost lunch time when I finished showering and changing… do you wanna eat out?” He asked while wondering why Nancy sounded very serious… and suddenly felt uneasy…
Nancy thought for a while then said, “Umm… okay… but meet me in the park first…?”
“Alright”
After thirty minutes, Kris was outside wearing ripped jeans, Chucks and a shirt (white this time since it’s getting hotter) and walking towards the park. When he was near though, he saw a really nice spectacle in front of the house which he honestly missed and makes him feel guilty…
Kim… dressed in the same way as when I first met her almost a year ago… since it’s getting warmer, her clothes get a bit smaller like all other girls in this season…
“Hi Kris! You’re heading off to Nancy’s?” Kim asked loudly, shaking him from his reverie.
“Oh!” he said, “No… but we’ll be meeting in the park…”
“Good choice”, Kim said, “since it’s a bit cooler there… umm… Kris, did Nancy sound a bit serious when you talked to her…?” She said, the summer sun shining and reflecting on her fair skin, great body and pretty face.
“Uhmm… yeah, she did…”
“Don’t worry”, she said, “JC and I are okay now…”
“Huh?” Kris asked, genuinely confused.
