SELENOPHILE

Being a selenophile,
I gaze at the moon.
Earlier it looked far from me,
but when I turned sideways,
I saw the celestial moon herself.
Prettier and brighter,
Skin as fair as milk,
Hair flowing like the Ganges,
And, eyes as bright as the sun.
I won't regret forfeiting my soul,
if I were to acquire your love for me.
But sometimes, it can turn
As cold as the darker side of the moon,
the side which many had not seen,
the side many had not felt,
that side, I had seen and felt.
But being the selenophile I am,
Gaze at you, Gaze at my own moon.
