When I wake, it is dark. I feel odd, like I was stretched repeatedly over the course of the night, inside. Of course I feel this way. I spent last night with Tom.

I stretch, hitting my head on the headboard as I do so.

"Odd," I mutter, "That hasn't happened before..." I get up, feeling unstable as I do so. Everything seems to have shrunk since I last stood here. A prank...? No, I'm taller, and...

I freeze, catching my reflection in the full-length mirror that we have yet to find a place for.

Physically, I look like an eighteen year-old should look, though I looked this young well into my thirties in my other time. However, I look almost nothing like myself.

My hair, normally black, now seems to be a hole in the air, except where there are faint streaks of blue, purple, and red. If I was looking at it in the light, I feel that it would shine. No longer is it unruly, for now it is sleek and long enough to reach my lower back.

My skin is pale, making me look ghostly under the pale light of the moon. My figure, while still slender, seems to have filled out, as well.

My eyes, while still green, are now striking, and glowing, as if lit from behind by candlelight. The glow flickers, as well.

I shiver. I must not have noticed the changes last night, as I was preoccupied with Tom from the moment I came to. It's no wonder he didn't hesitate taking me, which I had expected from him. Now that I think of it, it would have been extremely awkward if I still looked twelve.

"Hadrian?" a soft groan comes from the bed, and I watch as a tempus is cast, "Where'd you go? It's only ten in the morning..."

"I'm here," I murmur, "Why didn't you tell me that I looked like this?"

There's the sound of shuffling from the bed, and soon I can actually see Tom over the blankets, "I didn't feel that it was important enough to mention."

"I- Yeah, it would have killed the mood, i guess," I say, not able to bring myself to be annoyed. Tom grins.

"C'mon back to bed. The sheets are getting cold."

"Yeah, okay," I tear myself away from the mirror, moving back to the bed and laying next to Tom.

I fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.
