"He's staying and thats final."
"You're acting like thats wasn't the arrangement ." Kendal snorted as he put his clothes away in his drawers.
"Ouch ma." She was pressing the ice way too hard against my now basically healed eye. It was like if she was trying to break my cheek bone.
"I don't even need it and I'm going numb." I groan. My mom rolls her eyes and Jessie giggles.
"I still don't get how men just decided to hit you girls just because you were walking home.. from a pizza store! Ugh can you believe it?"
Jessie and I share a look.
My mom cannot know we were at a club.
I'm only 19 and Jessie is barely about to be 20. She would murder us. Especially since mom made Jessie her daughter the day her alcoholic father cracked her head open on the side walk because she fell asleep on the couch so he dragged her out.
That was the beginning of Junior year in High school. When she called me crying her eyes out, I told my mom. Now her and I have been living together since.
We lived at my moms place till we graduated and decided to get our own.
"Well, Kendal, the couch is nice and cozily waiting for you to knock out on it. Mom, it's been two weeks since the incident, my eye is fine. Jessie- Jessie? Oh my God, will you wake up and get off my bed, you have your own." I begin to push her as she drags herself off my bed, kisses my mom on the cheek as Goodnight, and makes her way to her room.
"Guess you guys are tired.." mom mumbles.
"It's two a.m... No duh." Mom nudges Kendals shoulder with a smile.
"I just love being around you guys.. you, Elpída, and Jessie.. My kids all together." We give her a small smile before pulling in on her and giving her a group hug... only involving Kendal and I.
"Oh and... I'll be back Monday night to pick up Kendal and talk about why Xavier was here and he spent the night, the night of the incident."
My mouth falls open.
"Goodnight." She quickly says laying a kiss on my cheek and Kendals before letting me respond, she's out the apartment door.
"Xavier!?" Kendal says as I let out a loud groan.
"Relax. We'll talk about it later. Good night." I mentally scold Jessie for telling mom as I push him out of my room and throw myself on my bed.
I'm able to drift off to sleep when I get a text from mom telling me she arrived home safely.
~
"She's hot."
"You're weird."
"How?"
"Because she has a boyfriend thats sitting righttttt... there." I point out as the girl goes and takes a seat on her boyfriends lap.
Kendal pouts.
"I need a girlfriend." He grumbles.
"What you need is to focus on them books." Jessie nods towards him as she is almost done with her ice cream.
"I don't even wanna go to Colle-"
WHACK!
"Bro, What the he-"
WHACK, WHACK, WHACK!
"Stop!" He holds my hands.
"I'm just trying to smack some sense into you." He looses his grip and I smack the back of his head again.
He groans as he leans back on his chair.
"I did not come down here to get abused for my birthday." He gives us another pout.
"You can just say dumb things some things." Jessie lets out as I nod in agreement.
"Now, finish your ice cream, we need to get the things. Your friends coming?" I ask as We begin to clear out the table and throw away our ice cream containers.
"A couple."
"So like 50?" Jessie lets out as he smirks.
"Dude." I say and he laughs.
"No, just a small group." We nod as we begin to make our way to Walmart.
~
"She's judging us."
"She's probably just annoyed by how fabulous we are." I cringed at Kendals words.
"Or maybe I'm just curious as to what you guys are up to." The woman caused shame to run over Jessie and Kendal as I laughed.
"We're...... Well, having a pool party." I responded as she laughed as the cashier scanned our 8th kitty pool.
"Well I hope you guys have fun."
"Thank you!" We thanked as we walked out the store and headed towards my jeep.
"It's one." Jessie let out as we drove to dad's house.
"Perfect."
Dad's on vacation with his girlfriend in Mexico so we have all free range.
Blowing up the kitty pools, we kept them in the garage while Kendals friends started showing up.
... too many started showing up.
"The party's lit, but... it kind of sucks there isn't anything to drink."
I over hear one of the guys.
"Oh hun, there are enough tiny water bottles and caparisons to go around for you toddlers." The kid rolled his eyes while Jessie and I laughed.
"Dude... he's not lying." Kendal came towards us while scratching the back of his neck.
"Ok, you're acting like we're old enough to buy alcohol."
"I am." Our heads snap towards the voice.
"Xavier?"
