Fire..... all I can see is fire.......
I have no idea what just happened. I guess I was thrown away by the explosion. And Bardh...... I can't seem to find him. All I can see....
Fire..... limbs..... bodies...... death......
Bardh, where is he ? I got him into this hellhole, it is all my fault. His wife...... his baby......
No....... I can't give up.....

I need to get up...... I can feel the ashes falling down on my face. I don't want to end up like that, neither does Bardh.
I got up somehow, but there is almost nothing left inside the forest. Bodies of both Moldavian and Ottoman could be seen everywhere, many are destroyed or disfigured. I'm not doing all that well myself. Splinters from nearby trees wounded my legs like shrapnel. But still, it is nothing compared to what happened to the others that are not as fortunate as me to survive.
I have never seen such carnage. Soldiers would never do these things to their enemies. What could possibly cause this ? Did I die and went straight to hell ? It sure seems so.....

What is that ? As the familiar sound of a kill could be heard, the clad of metal followed. I look behind me to see something that I could never unsee...

Is that an enemy soldier ? I've never seen such armor. The soldier's height.... it is unnaturally tall. Something is telling me that who or whatever that is, it is definitely not from Moldavia.
??? : "another one survived.... let me end you quickly." It spoke Turkish. Is it human ? Whatever that thing is, he held up his spear and was about to slice me from above. I reacted quickly and dodged.
??? : "hmm.... the others were too horrified to even move, my respects to you." It then walked towards me as I pull out my pistol and shot it in the chest hoping to hit its heart.
??? : "ouch, that actually hurts." The bullet went through the armor and even some blood were spilled out. And yet, that thing is not even fazed.
Me : "w-what..... what are you ?" Those words escaped my lips, barely....
??? : "out of respect for actually wounding me, I will tell you. I am a devil. Any human with religion will probably recognize that term, am I correct ?"
Me : "a d-devil ?" I have never been a religious person, but I'd kneel to any god if what that thing said is even near to being the truth.
??? : "well, at least you know what killed you." He then walked towards me once again as I ran away.
