Tons of people hate a certain day in February. Most of them aren't in long-term relationships.
Taylor's been through hell in every relationship she's had before her. Of course, it would be just her luck that Valentine's Day would be ruined for her in one of those. After being dumped on February 14th by who Taylor thought was the love her life, the day always brought back a feeling of pure pain for the girl. Even now, 6 years later, when she's been dating who she's sure is the love of her life, and even though she's definitely over her ex, the day is just not for her.
And Taylor so desperately wishes she could give Karlie the perfect day she deserves. She knows it's just a bullshit holiday and that her girlfriend can be showered with love the other 364 days, but she knows that her girlfriend loves every cliche.
Karlie knows her girlfriend better then anyone, and she just knew that Valentine's Day this year was weighing down on her heavily. She wanted to do everything in her power to make the day just feel somewhat better for her, even if that meant going against their tradition of just treating it like every other day.
Loving Taylor was probably the easiest thing Karlie has ever had to do. She was almost certain that she was programmed from birth to one day give her everything to the blonde. Surprising Taylor Swift? Completely different story. Just as well as Karlie knew Taylor, Taylor knew Karlie. Anytime the model even attempted to surprise her girlfriend, it would take Taylor less than 24 hours to discover every plan.  Yet, this year Karlie was destined to finally be able to surprise her girl.
-
Taylor woke up the morning of Valentine's Day to an empty bed. Not that anyone if her would be upset to spend the day alone, but it surely wasn't what the singer was expecting. I don't remember her telling me she had to work today. Taylor pulled out her phone to shoot Karlie a quick text and started to begin her day, hopefully pity free.
-
Keeping a secret from Taylor Swift is almost impossible. Trying to pull off a surprise of this magnitude was a whole different thing. As Karlie pulled into a parking space, her phone chimed.

"Are you working today? Am I an awful girlfriend if I totally missed that? Oops. I know you don't need this stupid cliche day to know it, buuutt I love you endlessly. Call me when you get a chance."

The model flashed her eyes to her watch. 8:45. She officially had 5 hours to get her grand idea set up and her girlfriend here. The panic started to settle in, yet Karlie remembered why she was doing all of this. Her eyes flash to the prettiest girl she has ever seen, the girl who knows how to make her laugh in serious situations, the girl who makes her feel love in a way she didn't know was possible.

"Hate to break it to you, but it makes you the worst girlfriend ever! Lol. I think it slipped my mind, but it's a short shoot and I should be done soon? Do you wanna meet me here and we can go get lunch from there? I'll have someone come pick you up around 12ish. Love you even more, like it's kinda embarrassing how much I am in love with you."

"See you then!"

After her response, Karlie slides her phone in pocket, knowing she'll have to remain focused for this to go off without a hitch.
-
In true Karlie fashion, she hadn't told Taylor anything about their day, (Who is she working for? Where are they going to eat? What should she wear? What was Karlie wearing? Why couldn't she just come home and they can just sit all day while Taylor tries not to think about her failed past?)  yet Taylor knew she would just have to figure out on her own and hope for the best.

After a long shower, and 2 hours trying to find the perfect outfit, Taylor decided on a dress she knew would drive her girlfriend crazy. Her security alerted her that the car was downstairs and after applying her final layer of lipstick, she began to descend down the stairs and join her girlfriend wherever the hell she was.
-
"Hey Chris?" Taylor called out to her driver as the car started to leave out of the city. "Where in the world is my girlfriend dragging me to?"
"I'm sorry Taylor, but Karlie gave me strict orders to not inform you of where we're going." Jesus Christ, Taylor thought. What are doing Karlie Kloss?
-
The second the large black town car rode into the driveway, Karlie began to panic. Logically, she knew she everything would be fine now, she couldn't help but be nervous to see her girlfriend. Even if Karlie liked to think she knew everything about her, predicting her mood on a day like today wasn't even something she would never even attempt to do. She just hoped she did enough to make her feel better.
"Baby! You didn't tell me you were working all the way in Connecticut. What is this house? Where are we-"
Karlie shut up her girlfriend by pressing a quick kiss to her lips.
"Well hello to you too," Karlie speaks with a giggle while remaining close to Taylors face. "And surprise, I didn't work today. I rented this house her for us for the weekend, I just-. I wanted to surprise you with.... something..," Karlie rambled, her nerves of Taylor absolutely hating everything. Now it was Taylor's turn to shut up her girlfriend with a kiss. Taylor kissed Karlie with the type of kiss that reminds each other why they truly fell in love. It was full of passion, warmth and everything that drove both girls crazy.

"Karlie Kloss, you are so perfect. Thank you for this. For everything. I love you."
Karlie considered hearing those words fall out of the singers mouth worth everything she's ever done.
-
Karlie dried her sweaty palms on her jeans. If she was going to be as cliche about this as she already was, then she might as well go all the way with it. Even though it's February, her and Taylor were going on a walk on the beach to watch the sunset. Taylor could tell Karlie was nervous just by her little ticks, and when she thought about it more and more, she realized that Karlie had been acting weird all week. She knew it wasn't the time to try to squeeze something out of her.

As the girls strolled  down the chilly beach, Karlie brought them to a stop.
You can do this Karlie, it's just Taylor. "I remember the first day I met you. I knew the second we locked eyes, that we were just. We were going to be something beautiful. Never could I have imagined anything like this. It's probably unhealthy how much I love you, and I think it's even more unhealthy how happy you make me. So..." Karlie simultaneously reached into her coat pocket and she dropped onto her knee. Taylor let out a large gasp, not expecting Karlie to be doing this. "I know this is horribly cliche and I'm sorry, but I loved you too much to keep this any longer. Taylor Alison Swift, there's nothing I could say that come close to describing it. But hopefully this will?" Karlie said with a weak smile, trying to hide her fears and the tears from almost spilling out of her eyes while opening the velvet box she held in her left hand. The beautiful round ring reflected off the oranges and pinks of the coastal sunset. "Will you marr-" Before Karlie could even finish her question, Taylor spoke with pure excitement. "Yes! Oh my god, Karlie, a million times yes.." The girl bent down to connect her lips with her girlfriend, no fiancé, feeling like the luckiest girl in the world.

And Valentine's Day would now be replaced with the memory of the best day of her life.
