I sighed sadly taking the last picture down from my locker as I added it to the small pile in my bag. I looked at its four paint chipped, graffited, seaweed green walls and sighed, another year gone. I shut it for the last time as I turned quickly walking down sophomore hallway.
I was halfway down the hallway when I heard a distinct voice yell, “Tall person!” Ellie called as she ran up to me, a pink bag in her hand.
“Short person,” I said mockingly at her. She came to a stop and gave me a hug; she came up to my waist her short brown hair with purple streaks falling into her eyes.
“I’m going to miss you tall person! Thank you so much for daring Megan to talk to me at lunch and inviting me to sit with you guys.” She said as she looked up at me. “Since I’m not going to be at your sweet sixteen I got you a gift anyways.” She said as she handed me the pink bag causing me to wrinkle my nose, pink was not my favorite color. I quickly pulled out a little notebook that said ‘Riley Marie’s Keep Out’ in big bold letters. I went to open it and six little piece of paper fell out; I caught them before they hit the ground. I quickly read them. ‘One Direction’ said the little rectangle paper and as I looked at the square one it said, ‘V.I.P Admit One’. I screamed and jumped up and down, it was quiet comical actually. The jocks were coming out of their weight lifting room and the preps that were quickly glued to their sides, gave me a ‘what the heck’ look but deiced it wasn’t important enough to worry about.
“Ellie I can’t accept this, it’s too much." I said once I had calmed down.
“Riley Marie Summers, you listen here that is your birthday present weather you like it or not!” She said seriously. “You are going to go to that concert with Tabby and Meg and meet those boys, fall in love with Harry and have curly haired, British, cat loving babies! Do you understand me?” She explained slowly.
“Hey Riley did you pass another test or something?” My friend Tracey asked as he walked by me with a smirk, talking about the time I had passed the mandatory test that all the sophomores were forced to take and I freaked out, because some of the smartest kids in the class didn’t pass. I stuck my tongue out at him; I don’t see why he couldn’t just let it go.
“Shut it Trace.” I said as he walked by causing him to laugh and shake his head.
“I expect you to write in this about meeting them, especially about meeting Harry!” Ellie said. Okay so I had a little bit of a huge crush on One Directions Harry Styles, sue me.
“Will do Cross my heart and hope to die stick a needle in Harry Potters Eye.” I said as I did the motions. “Why do you have to move Ellie, next year is going to be weird without having my favorite freshman!” I said. I would have said more if the bell hadn’t rung, causing my eyes to water as I said goodbye to one of my closest friends.
