My dad drove me to school. It was silent and he just said bye when we got there. I walked up the stairs to school, not late this time. I heard my name being called from a while away. I knew that voice. I turned around to see Marty bolting towards me.

"Hey, Marty. Where's your skateboard?" I asked, noticing the absence of the board.

"Forgot it, hey, can you come to my house for dinner tonight?" He asked, looking a little flushed in the cheeks.

"Yeah, I think so. If I don't tell my dad who it's with." I said and chuckled sadly.

"What? He didn't like me?" Marty asked as we walked to our first class.

"Nope. He said you looked like a troublemaker, and that he doesn't want me hanging out with you anymore." I breathed. "And I told him that we had an amazing night and that he hasn't even spent any time with you." Marty nodded.

"Yeah, well maybe we could change his opinion," Marty said.

"Maybe" we entered the English class to start another boring school day. Since Marty had detention at lunch, I had nothing to do, so I sat in the cafeteria and studied.

--Evening--

My dad came to pick me up from school but I told him I was gonna go to Marty's for dinner. I thought he'd leave us, but he coldly offered us a ride and Marty took it up before I could say no. Now I'm in the back seat with Marty and my dad keeps glancing back at us like we're having a huge make out session back here.

We pulled into the house Marty pointed at and said bye to my dad, he told me to be back by eight. Great. Marty's mother greeted us at the door.

"Well hello Macy, Marty. Come right in." She left the door open for us to follow, when I got in the house it smelled like spaghetti, one of my favorites. Marty led me over to the couch, the tv was playing The Golden Girls, I liked that show.

"So, Marty," I said. He ripped his eyes away from the tv and looked at me.

"So Macy, what do you think of my humble abode?" Marty asked and I chuckled.

"Not too shabby McFly," I said, he smiled. His father walked into the room and sat in the armchair across from us.

"So you must be Macey, Lorraine told me you were coming. She's very pretty Marty." When his dad said this, Marty blushed. So did I.

"Yeah dad," Marty said and his dad went to change the channel, he started watching another show. I was looking at Marty as he watched the tv, then his dad started laughing.

"Ah. Ah. Ah. Ah. Ah. Oh ah. Ah. Ah." I didn't mean to look over, but my head turned to give him a weird glance. He didn't even notice. It seemed Marty didn't even notice his dad.

"Dinners ready." Marty's mom called unenthusiastically from the kitchen. We got up and Marty showed me where to sit. Marty's mom had a glass of liquor that I could smell from where I was across the table. She served the spaghetti, it was actually very good, we had small chat about school and stuff. I got interrupted by Marty's dad laughing when Marty's brother told him he had to change the oil in his hair, then Marty's brother left for work. I finished up and brought my plate to the kitchen where I found Marty's mom, standing in the corner, still drinking.

"Hello Mrs. McFly," I said and she nodded sadly. I nodded and rinsed my plate off. Then went back and stood behind Marty's chair. He was already done eating but he didn't put his plate in the kitchen. I put my hands on his shoulders and softly massaged. He seemed to like this, so I continued for a couple minutes, until his mom came out, with a full glass of liquor.

"Macey, when do you have to be home?" She asked me.

"Eight." I rolled my eyes at what my dad did.

"Well it's only six right now, you've got time." She said, then went and sat on the couch.

"Hey Marty, what do you want to do?" I asked him. He stood up beside me.

"I don't know, hmm." He thought for a second. "I was thinking we could just stay here and talk, till you have to leave." I nodded, that sounded good to me.

"Okay."
