As I wandered the school during host club hours someone elses footsteps echoed through the halls. They were different not the sound a teachers heels cluck in the floor more like a small patter of a child.
I stopped walking for a moment looking at the reflection of another student in the hall, Honey.
"Shouldn't you be hosting?" I asked not turning to look at the small boy.
"Well I mean Takashi can hold his own for a bit..." he said then looking up to me "Ri-Chan do you love Tama-Chan?" he asked a slight sadness in his voice. I looked at him, I was shocked but kept a blank expression.
"Honey I don't think I know what you mean." I said trying to hide the fact that we are engaged.
"You don't have to tell me River." he said seriously even using my full name. "I just think you should know that Takashi likes you. I don't think he quite knows it yet though." Honey explained and began to walk away. "but he wants what makes you happy, not his own happiness." He said over his shoulder before walking back to the Host Club.
I looked out the window seeing a river in the distance, is it me? Am I that far away, but still so close? Am I nearing my demise or is it just reality. Maybe im just waking up from the dreams I have been living day to day.
I walked to music room #3, not really caring that they were still hosting. I just needed answers, because I need to know. What isn't known needs to be known!
