I shoved Evie into the room and left down the stairs to visit with Ana and Ivan. I didn't need to be apart of their conversation I just needed to get her here.

With a big smile on my face I walked towards the kitchen. What stopped me in my tracks was the sounds of girlish giggles and hushed whispers.

I inched towards the doorway leading to the kitchen and stopped so I could listen. As if things couldn't get any weirder. I heard Ivan's voice.

"Cmon Ana everyone is upstairs, just a quickie and nobody will know."

I heard the sound of a slap and a groan. I wanted to laugh but I also felt somewhat disturbed thinking of my father figure having a quickie in the kitchen I used to eat at.

"We will be doing no such thing Ivan now get your grubby hands out of here and maybe tonight I'll give you what you want."

That was enough for me to hear as I backed away towards the stairs before clearing my throat and stomping loudly into the kitchen. Ivan and Ana were standing close together but jumped apart the second I came in.

"Hey guys what's going on?"

Ana's face palmed as she tried her best to smile at me and busy herself in the kitchen. Ivan let out a chuckle before coming over to me and giving me a quick hug.

"Not much are you staying? Nikita and Alekzander should be here soon."

I felt my heart stop as I shook my head no. I wasn't ready to see either of them right now. Ivan gave me a disapproving look but nodded his head in understanding.

"I've gotta go but I love you guys and I'll see you soon. Have someone bring Evie home later?"

Ana came over and gave me a hug. "Of course sweetie."

I dug into my pocket and pulled out my keys rushing out of the house. Once I made it into my truck I felt like I could breath.

I hightailed it out of the driveway and began to speed as far away from that house as possible. I didn't want to risk passing Nikita on the road.

On my way home I stopped by Theo's favorite cafe and picked us up some lunch. I knew he wanted to talk about something and that he was going to be mad I didn't text him when I got to the Volkov's.

I pulled up in front of the house and parked my truck. Grabbing the large bag filled with food I jumped out and was greeted by gator and Finley.

"Scar! Uncle Theo said I could play with Gator."

I laughed and reached down and ruffled his hair making him laugh. "You can play with Gator whenever you want honey. Where's your mom?"

He pointed over in the direction of the bench and I noticed Anya sitting there reading a book. She glanced up and made eye contact smiling and waving me over.

I started to walk towards her with Finley and Gator following close behind. Anya placed her book down and met me halfway across the yard.

"You're back early, Theo said you probably wouldn't be home till late."

"Yeah I didn't either, where's Theo?"

Anya rolled her eyes and jutted a thumb over her shoulder towards the house. "Where he always is."

I rolled my eyes with a smile and nodded to her. I headed in the house and towards Theo's office with bag of food in hand hoping he won't be so mad.

I knocked gently on the door and waited for the okay to come inside. When I heard him yell to come in I slowly opened the door and warily peeked my head inside.
