Vitaly

I took the phone from Anderson and pressed it to my ear. Why wouldn't Nikita just call me...second thought where the hell is my phone?

"Nikita what's wrong."

"They shot him Vitaly they fucking shot Alex. We went by the house to check on things and they were waiting for us. Theo tried to intimidate Alek to find out where you were. Alek punched him and then fucking Gus shot Alek."

I took a deep breath and dared a glance at Scar. She was biting her lip and fidgeting with her hands. "Is he okay? How bad was it?"

"He'll be fine, I called the doctor who came and removed the bullet and stopped the bleeding. It went straight into his shoulder. It was a warning Vitaly. Gus could have taken him out and you know that."

This was a disaster, things here have been relatively quiet. Nikolai and Evie were in a safe house and now I would need to move my sister. I knew she didn't want to come here but maybe now she wouldn't put up so much of a fight.

"I'll make some calls, get your shit packed your coming here with us."

I didn't wait for her answer hanging up the phone and bracing myself to tell Scar.

"We'll spit it out Vitaly."

"It's Alek...Gus shot him."

Her eyes widened and her face turned red. I could see it in her eyes. The fury....the fire I thought I lost in her a long time ago. My Scar was back and she was ready to kick some ass.

"You're telling me....that Alek was shot and they are coming here? WHY DID WE LEAVE THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE!"

Well I'm fucked.

"Baby calm down."

She held up her hand and closed her eyes. Note to self: never tell a woman to calm down. She pinched the bridge of her nose and slowly inhaled.

"I want them here as soon as possible. I also want you to call that brother of yours and get my best friend here now. In fact you bring anyone important to us here. Ivan, Ana, Carmen, Chris, Cato. You bring them all. If something happens to any of them Vitaly so help me."

She pointed a finger at me before turning on her heels and storming out of the room. I could send the jet back for everyone but would they even come? I've never said good things about this place.

I walked down the halls, and toward the library I would always find my mother in. Taking a seat in the leather armchair I pulled my phone back out of my pocket. I needed to do this or Scar would have my ass.

So I started with Ivan. Almost everyone was happy to come, Carmen put up the most fight but I expected someone to. I was turning their lives upside down.

A few phone calls later and everything was arranged. Before I left the library though I took a moment to look around. It still smelled like my mother. A light scent of perfume drifted around the room. I could feel the ache in my chest.

She wasn't always so bad, father ruined her after Nikolai was born. Nikita didn't even get a fair shit at the mother I had as a small child. We were all subjected to the woman my father had created her to be.

I shook off the thoughts and left the room. I needed to talk to Scar and let her know I had fixed this.

When I approached the bedroom I slowly turned the handle. It was late so with any luck she would be sleeping. I pushed open the door wincing when the heavy wood creaked at the hinges.

There she was sound asleep cuddled up to my pillow as usual. Her auburn hair splayed across the bed with shirt wisps lying on her face. God this woman was stunningly beautiful.
