Soulmate au!

~ requested ~

The world as your parent described it sounded perfect. The vibrant green of the grass, the blue of the sky, the orange sun and the silver moon, the yellow color of sunflowers, the purple that sometimes floods the sky when the sun sets. You were jealous of those who could experience the world for what it was.

Since you hadn't found your 'soulmate', or whatever yet, the only thing you could see were shades of gray. You didn't know any other colors. Apparently, when you make eye contact with the person you're meant to be with, color will fill your world and thus, your soulmate 'completes' your world.
It sounded like a pretty fairytale to you, but you were just wondering where the fuck your soulmate was because those 50 shades of gray were really starting to make you gloomy.

You thought about this while you entered your favorite café, then ordered your usual drink. You got your order and went to sit down somewhere in a corner, but someone suddenly stood up from their seat, making you bump into them. The burning liquid inside the cup soaked the front of your shirt and you gasped, the other person spun around to face you. His face immediately filled with horror when he laid eyes on your shirt.

"Oh... my god, I am so sorry." He said firmly, and scrambled to get some napkins while you kept your shirt from touching your skin.

"Here, let me..." He said nervously and started dabbing your shirt with the napkins.

"I'm really sorry." He said sheepishly, throwing the napkins on the table. "I should've paid attention to my surroundings."
"I...It's fine, don't worry about it." You said, laughing awkwardly.
He had been looking at his feet the entire time, but now he had the courage to look up to you. And then it happened.

Pain shot through your head for a split second as you made eye contact. You recoiled in shock, clutching your head, and the boy did the same thing. When you looked back up at each other, you saw the change immediately.

His eyes were... not gray. You didn't know what color they were, but they definitely weren't gray.

"Holy-" He whispered, "Your eyes..."
You stared back at him with wide eyes, just as stunned as he was. You were the first to avert your gaze, and you almost started crying in delight.

You saw it. No longer was the sky outside a light shade of gray- no, it was blue.

"No way..." You muttered, looking back at the mystery man who was supposedly your soul mate.

"I- God, I don't even know what to say!" The boy said, his eyes suddenly lighting up.
"I mean- My name is Yeosang, and you are?"
He smiled, and his expression made you think of a little kid inside a candy store.
"(Y/N)." You answered, smiling back. "My name is (Y/N). It's so incredibly nice to meet you I..." You said, then laughed.
"God what do I- What do you even say in this kind of situation?"
Yeosang laughed as well.
"I have no idea either..." He stared at you for a few moments, taking in your appearance, flustering you.
"You're really..." He gestured awkwardly. "Beautiful." He finished shyly, looking back down to the floor to hide his red cheeks.
"Thank you, you're pretty good looking yourself." You flirted, giggling afterwards.

"Would you, uh... You know what, let me buy you another coffee, and then we'll go to the mall so I can get you a new shirt, sound good?" He offered kindly.
"Ah, you really don't have to buy me all of that."
"But I want to."
His eyes, even though they were so friendly, were just as intense as well. The look in his eye alone made you blush.
"All right, fine. Let's do that." You finally agreed, smiling shyly.

The day passed quick, too quickly for your liking. After Yeosang got you a new shirt, you didn't want to part ways just yet. You ended up wandering around the mall, then finishing your day at McDonalds. Yea, it wasn't the best food, but it sure as hell was fun to be there. He even drove you back home, and so now you were here, standing by your front door.
You weren't ready for the night to end yet, neither of you were.

"So... uhm, do you want to come inside maybe?" You carefully asked after a minute of silence.

"My roommate is waiting for me but I can stay like, half an hour longer, if that's okay."

You beckoned him to come inside and closed the door as he hung up his coat.

"Would you like something to drink?" You asked as you led him to the kitchen. There was a large kitchen island in the middle of the room where he sat down.

"A cup of coffee, maybe?"
"Coming right up!"

Yeosang looked at you as you prepared his coffee, his chin resting on his palm. You were both really getting used to all the color you saw. He now knew what blue looked like because of the sky, white because of the color of your teeth you showed when you smiled, brown because of his eyes, yellow and orange because of the sunset, green because of the grass. You had beautiful (E/C) eyes, wore a green shirt and gray jeans. He believed your hair was (H/C), but he didn't know for sure. All he knew was that your color palette was beautiful. He was glad you got along so well, glad that he had finally met the person he had been longing to meet, and that they accepted him even after that horribly embarrassing accident.

You set two mugs on the island and sat down.

"Everything is so beautiful now huh?" You said, looking around the room in wonder. You never knew your house was this colorful, but you liked it.

"Yeah, I can't wait to see the world in all it's glory. So I was thinking, would you like to hang with me and my roommate? He already met his soulmate a while ago so he can teach us the colors!"
"If that means I get to spend more time with you..." Pink dusted both of your cheeks at your words and you laughed nervously.

Running your hand through your hair, you didn't notice Yeosang staring at you with the biggest smile on his face.

There really was a good person for him. And they were perfect.

I was thinking of making an Imagines/reactions book for The Rose because I'm slightly(very) obsessed.

I also just read the first chapter of a story by BrokenTwighlight called Broken Words. It's based on the storyline for BTS's HYYH era and I love the way it's written. It only has one chapter out but it's so worth checking out she's honestly such a good writer ngnsgab TeAcH mE
