It was December 15th and a week until Christmas. Richie had dragged us to some girls party. I sighed pushing my wavy hair behind my ear. We were all crammed into the back of the Denbroughs SUV. Mikes elbow was digging into my stomach and I was halfway sitting on Bills lap.
Finally we pulled up the driveway. I sighed of relief when the door opened and a breeze of cool air flew into the car. I quickly un buckled my seat belt and stumbled out of the car. The eight of us headed up to the doorstep and waited for the door to open. When the girl, apparently her names was Michelle, opened the door I was hit with a wave of alcohol. An uneasy feeling settled in the bottom of my stomach as we entered the house. Everywhere in the house there were kids drinking and grinding on each other. Not my kind of scene.
"Alright well Ill see you guys later. Richie said going off with Eddie and Stan. Ben and Bev wanted to be by themselves so they went into one of the more empty rooms.
Soon everyone was separated and I was by myself with Monica.
"Cheryl I think you've had enough." She said grabbing the red solo cup out of my hands. I don't remember what led me to this but I was here now.
"Noooo." I said grabbing the drink back. Monica let out a frustrated sigh. "Why did I let Bill go off with Mike to air hockey." She muttered under her breath.
"Chug Chug Chug." chants came from the other room. I tipsly stumbled into the room. A giant keg was placed in the middle of the room and surprisingly not outside.
"Move over." I told the guy currently under the keg. He rolled his eyes but reluctantly moved. I placed my mouth under the spout and let the beer pour into my mouth. People were chanting chug behind me. I let the bitter taste of beer flood my taste buds.
"Cheryl." Monica shouted. I felt her hand roughly on my shoulder. "Lets go." I ignored her cries until I could barley think. Thats the only reason she was able to pull me away from the keg. I stumbled away my vision hazy. Monica's ombre hair looked like a blur as she pulled me outside.
"What has gotten into you." She shouted gripping my shoulders.
"I dont know what your talking about." I smiled lazily my words all slurring together.
"You are beyond drunk right now. Im calling your mother were leaving." I sat on the porch stubbornly.
"You wouldn't dare." I glared at her.
"Oh yes I would." She snipped back. I folded my hands over my chest like a toddler.
"Cheryl?" A familiar voice asked from the doorway. I whipped my head around to see the shocked faces of literally everyone.
"Come on were leaving." Bev said grabbing my hand.
"I dont wanna leave." I protested.
"Cheryl why did you do this to yourself." Eddie mumbled just loud enough so I could hear him.
"Woooooo!" Someone shouted. I turned around to see Richie, probably more drunk then me, standing on top of a table inside. I stood up and ran inside with him. Together Richie and I danced on the table to Bust A Move.
My eyes began to get droopy and my head was spinning. Before I knew what was happening I was falling. The last thing I heard was Drunk Richie saying something incoherent and someone shouting my name.
♡
My head pounded when the bright sunlight filled the room. I blinked rapidly.
"Sorry." A voice mumbled closing the curtains. I sat up. This was the first time I had a chance to observe my surroundings. Type writers surrounded the room as well as three desks. I was in Bills room.
"What did I do." I sighed rubbing my forehead.
"Well, you danced on a table with Richie. You um according to Monica you chugged half a keg of beer." Bill told me lightly grasping my hand. My stomach churned. I am so stupid. I chuckled dryly.
"Im so stupid what was I thinking."
"Hey Hey Hey, your not stupid okay." Bill said grabbing my shoulders.
"Yes I am. I thought that by getting drunk I would forget everything. Forget about Georgie, forget about George and Earl, about Eli, everything." At this point I couldn't stop the tears from rolling down my cheeks. Everyone knew at some point I would crash. I guess today was the day. Bill wiped my tears away. "Oh my gosh, im such a horrible girlfriend." I had come to the sudden realization I never ever did anything for Bill and he had done so much for me.
"Cheryl,Cheryl look at me." I stubbornly looked at him. His face was completely serious." You are not a horrible girlfriend. I love you okay." I was about to say something else when his words hit me. I love you.
"You mean that?" I asked searching his face.
"Yes." I looked into his eyes and saw he was not kidding. He leaned in and kissed me sweetly. After a couple of seconds we pulled away.
"I love you too." I said a smile growing on both of our faces.
A/N omg guys this is the end of this book. I was going to continue it but if I did it would just ramble and since I tied everything together I thought this was the perfect end.
