Also in the ChoiSandwich Week Book, it's the same, I'm just putting it in this one-shot book too.^^
That time again. The time of the year where giving is what matters, where snow falls and sticks to any surface it can. The time of the year when Christmas is celebrated, the winter season! It's December 24th, Christmas Eve, her first Christmas with the RFA, especially the redhaired twins Saeyoung and Saeran, who she moved in with. The last time (Y/N) celebrated Christmas was 4 years ago with her mother, father and her twin sister. Unfortunately, on this day 4 years ago, is the day that her entire family was killed in a car crash due to a drunk driver losing control on the road from some black ice. (Y/N) was the only one to live in the crash.
She didn't have any family that lived close by, the closest being a good couple of countries over from South Korea. Having very few friends didn't help the situation either. Therefore, (Y/N) ended up living on the streets, barely surviving. That is, until she woke up one day with cash, a phone and a couple pairs of clothes. Then the phone buzzed, she was led to the RFA and the rest is history.
That brings us here, (Y/N) cuddling with the redhead boys, her in the middle and one twin on either side of her, all sitting on the couch, admiring the bright Christmas tree that the three of them decorated earlier that month. It was silent, a comfortable silence between the trio, until Saeyoung spoke up, breaking the silence.
"I've never really liked Christmas before," Saeyoung started, speaking just barely over a whisper, "but now that I have my family to celebrate it with, I think I'm going to start liking it." (Y/N) couldn't help but smile, feeling the exact same way as him.
"Yeah..." she whispered as a response.
"I heard that on Christmas, some people have traditions" Saeran commented. (Y/N) giggled.
"Yeah, some people do. I use to have a tradition too."
"Use to?" Saeyoung questioned, catching on to the use of pass tense.
"Well," she started, "on this day 4 years ago my family died, but you probably already knew that." To her surprise, both Saeyoung and Saeran shook their heads no.
"No actually, I only looked into criminal records so see if you were a threat" Saeyoung confessed.
"And I only looked into the basics, name, birthday, what city you live in, where you were born, things like that. I knew you lived on the streets but I didn't know why nor did I bother to find out, since back then I didn't care and all I wanted was to complete the 'mission'" Saeran added.
"Oh," she breathed out, "well I guess you know now. Anyway, when my parents died, I had nowhere to go, I was flat broke and didn't have any friends to stay with, hence why I lived on the streets. One morning I woke up with everything I would need, including a phone. That's when Saeran texted me. But back to the topic of traditions." She took a breath.
"Every Christmas Eve, before my siblings and I went to bed, my parents would bring out a present for us and we'd get to open it. Though it was usually a pair of pjs to wear to bed and then for the morning for pictures." She added with a giggle. Saeyoung and Saeran shared a look behind (Y/N) while she stared down at her cup of hot chocolate. Wordlessly, both men got up off the couch and walked to the tree, some presents already under it. A moment later, the twins came back with a present each in their hands and then handed them to (Y/N). She gave the two of them a look of confusion.
"Take them and open them." Saeran told her and she nodded, taking the gifts form the two of them and opening them.
Saeran's gift was a choker. It wasn't a completely edgy choker but more of a fashionable one. The choker part had three different kinds of stripes design going black then white and then a black lace design. Attached to the lace was a black butterfly outlined in gold. To take it off and on is in the back of the choker, which had a gold chain connecting it. (Y/N) carefully took it out of its box and placed the box on the coffee table. She motioned for Saeran to come closer to her and when he did, she handed him the choker.
"Help me put it on?" she asked and he nodded, (Y/N) turning around and held her hair out of the way so he could put it on. When Saeran was done she turned back around and hugged him.
"Thank you, Saeran" she whispered, just enough for him to hear her.
Next was Saeyoung's. His present was a little bigger than Saeran's. She took it and when she opened it, (Y/N) pulled out a jacket that looked exactly like his except instead of yellow accents they were a violet colour. (Y/N) immediately put on the jacket over her tank top and it was a perfect fit to her taste. She embraced Saeyoung just as she did with his brother, uttering the same quiet "Thank you" before pulling away.
"Stay right there" (Y/N) said before walking off to another room. Since no one shared a room, that meant that (Y/N) would be able to hide almost anything in her room. Walking across her room, (Y/N) stands in front of her dresser. She bends down to her knees and opens the bottom drawer. In there sits two perfectly wrapped gifts for the twins. Grabbing them both, (Y/N) closes the drawer back up and walks back over to the living room where Saeyoung and Saeran are waiting.
"Here" is all she says as she hands each twin their assigned gift.
Grabbing the gifts from her, Saeyoung and Saeran both carefully teared the wrapping paper off to reveal a small rectangular box. Knowing full well that the gift wasn't the box, they lifted the lid of the box off and they gasped.
Inside held a picture frame, a frame that can be unfolded into one long frame to hold three pictures, which it did. In the left frame was a picture of the brothers together, Saeran actually smiling in the picture. The right frame was a picture of (Y/N) with one of them, in Saeyoung's it would be her and Saeyoung and for Saeran it's him and (Y/N). Finally, in the center is a picture of all three of them, (Y/N) in between the two with arms wrapped around their shoulders and their arms around her torso. All three smiling, like a happy family. At the bottom of the frame was the word family in gold lettering.
"D-do you like it?" (Y/N) asked nervously with a smile after there was a long silence once the twins opened their gifts.
"No" Saeran flat out stated in a monotone voice. Her smile faltered, turning into a frown, tears starting to form in her eyes as she lowered her head to look at her feet.
"We love them" Saeyoung added to his brother's statement with a huge smile. She snapped her head up to look at them, both are smiling at her. They set their frames down on the coffee table and take a step towards her, enveloping her into a warm embrace.
"Thank you..." they both whispered.
The three stayed there, hugging each other as they silently portrayed how happy each of them are to be able to share this Christmas together and how happy they are to be able to make their own little Christmas Eve family tradition.
