(Roshon Fegan as Jayden Taylor)

Jayden's POV

"Mom!" I yelled down the stairs from my bedroom!

"What, Jay?!" she screamed back up from the bottom of the stairs.

"I'm too sick *cough* to go to *cough* school today!" *cough*

"Jayden Alexander Taylor, you have 32.1 of a second to get your ass down these stairs and have breakfast before school!" I heard her walk away from the stairs back towards the kitchen.

"Ugh," I groaned as I slammed my door shut and stalked over to my closet. I didn't want to go to school. I was new to this school...well to the whole state, actually. I came from North Carolina all the way to Miami, Florida (it's not that far but still for me it was lol).

Oh, how rude of me. I'm just going on and on and on about life and I haven't even introduced myself properly. The name's Jayden. Or Jay for short. I'm 17, almost 18 and I'm 5'8 with black, curly hair, and dark brown eyes and mixed, tan skin. I was fairly average for my age, but I could always use some improving.

I just moved to Miami from North Carolina. I'd lived there all my life and I was a high school senior to be suddenly ripped away from your family and friends...it kinda stung. Sorta like a bee. But...worse.

Well, I think you get the jist of info about me and there's more to learn and discover.

So...back to reality (which sucks)

I went to the bathroom to take a quick shower before school. As I entering the shower, I slipped and fell and almost hit my head of the water knob of the tub.

"Ouch! Damn it!" I hissed. This day is off to a WONDERFUL start, I thought to myself as I got up and proceeded to take a shower.

10 mins later....

As I finished my shower and was drying my face and hair, I look at my reflection, which I never do. I was very insecure, especially since...well...

HIM.

I shook my head to snap myself outta my thoughts. I felt the tears begin to well up in my eyes, which I wiped away swiftly. Get ahold of yourself, Jay. You're over him. Everything will be alright now... I hope.

As I finished up in the bathroom, I made my way back to my room. I went to my closet to find an outfit to wear. I am very indecisive when picking clothes. I gotta look good for the guys--- I mean, uh, girls.

Yeah, girls.

After 5 minutes of trying on different outfits and a piles of laundry on my bed I finally settled on dark blue skinny jeans, a white Aeropostale T-shirt and black and white converse. I went over to the my dresser mirror and did my hair and to look myself over.

"Jayden!" My mom yelled in a annoyingly, threatening tone. I know what that tone meant. I had better get my ass down those stairs right that second or I'd be grounded till I'm 40.

"Coming, Mom!" I yelled back. I finished my hair, put on deodorant, sprayed on some Cologne (gotta smell good, boo) and grabbed my backpack, phone and keys and scurried down the stairs before the devil herself had my head.

"Well look who finally managed to make it down the stairs," my dad said as he drank his coffee pancakes. I chose not to respond and instead rolled my eyes and sat down at the table.

I sat down beside my little brother, Jack and ruffled his hair. "Hey, Jacky Jack," I said smiling and he smiled back with that classic, toothy little grin of his.

" Uh-uh, no sir you don't have time to dine Mr. Slowpoke. It's 7:45. School starts at 8:00. Out her door now!" my ever so gentle mother scolded as she dragged me up by my arm and shoved me towards the door.

"Bye dad, by Jack, and--" "Me!" I was interrupted. It was my little sister,  Sandra. She was just coming bouncing down the stairs. "Bye, Sandra, " I said as I kissed her head as my mom was still pulling my along towards the front door.

After what seemed like forever, we arrived at the front door and my mom came outside with me on the covered front porch.

"Now listen," she said, giving me a gentle, warming, smile of reassurance. "I know this is hard for you. It's your last year of high school and you're starting in a new place. But this cod be your last chance to make good first impressions and sweetie look at me, she said as she gently grabbed my face and turned it towards her. " I love you, okay? And just be you. Keep your head on right and stay focused and please stay outta trouble. Okay, darling?"

"Okay, mom," I said. I gave her a quick kiss on the cheek and headed towards my car.

" Love you!" I called out as I started my car.

"Love you, too! Drive safe!" and with that she headed back inside.

I backed out of the driveway and headed towards school.

Today's gonna be great, I thought to myself  smiled and headed to school.

Little did I know my day hadn't even begun yet.
