Wyatt's POV

It's a good thing Frankie didn't live that far from school. I really was not in the mood for driving a long distance. With everything that happened today and all the emotions and thoughts running through my head, I would might drive off a fucking bridge.

I snapped out of my thoughts as we approached Frankie's house. He lived in a really expensive subdivision where the houses seemed humongous. I pulled up to his house which was a beautiful brick two story home and never ceased to amaze me.

I pulled into his driveway and we got out of the car and headed towards the front door. He unlocked the door and we headed inside. "Mi casa, su casa," he said as we stepped into the foyer. He always said that.

"If you want food or anything to drink you know where the kitchen is. I'm going upstairs to my room really quickly. I'll be right back," he said. I raised an eyebrow. Frankie suddenly seemed very edgy and anxious. Weird.

I went to the fridge to grab a soda and raid his pantry for some snacks. I settled for a sprite and some Doritos.

I pulled my phone out of my pocket to check my Snapchat and Instagram and messages and all the good stuff cause I was so distracted today I totally forgot to do it.

I scrolled through Instagram and like a few posts and then went to Snapchat to snap a few people and send out streaks.

When I was done the time on my phone read 3:30. I decided to go up the stairs and check on Frankie because he had been upstairs a good minute and he'd said he would be right back.

I made my way back to the foyer and made my way up the stairs. As I approached his door I heard murmuring and hushed talking. Quietly, as not to be heard, I tiptoed towards his door and put my ear against the door.

"Look, he's here now. I...I have to tell him how I feel before that other dude gets him," Frankie said, I'm assuming into his phone. He was quiet for a moment, listening to the person on the other end of the line. "What do mean 'he's not gay? Trust me the signs are there and I saw him kiss the same dude in an empty classroom during the switch from first to second," Frankie replied. It was quiet again. "No, he doesn't know."

My breath hitched. God damn it, Jayden now look what you've done. Great, now I've got another thing to worry about.
So now Frankie likes me and that's why he wanted me here all alone.

I walked back down the stairs quietly so he wouldn't know that I had been there.
I grabbed my backpack and yelled up the stairs, "F, I'm out! I'll see ya later, bro," I said. "Wait!" he called out. He came rushing downstairs, phone in hand. "Wh-what's the rush? I mean we can chill, play video games watch TV--" he was saying frantically. I cut him off. "I've got to get going. My mom wants me home before dinner," I lied. "But it's only ten minutes to four. You don't have to go yet," he pleaded, looking anywhere but my eyes. I sighed. "Frankie, I've just had a really rough day and I just wanna go hom--"

But I didn't get to finish my sentence as it was cut off by his lips on mine. I was shocked. I didn't kiss back. Instead I pushed him away. F, what the hell?" I asked

He just looked down and didn't say anything. "You should get home," he said, still looking down fidgeting with his hands.

What the fuck? HE kissed ME and he's kicking me out of his house?

"Yeah, I'll see you around, ya?" I asked.
"Yeah," he said, trying to force smile but failing. I nodded and left the house, letting the door slam behind me.

I walked to my car and leaned over it, my head on the roof. My thoughts were spinning. This was all too much. I couldn't REALLY be gay....could I? I will admit I enjoyed Jayden's kiss earlier more than I should have. But I blame that on the body's reaction to feeling of contact from another human. I sighed in frustration and got in my car, backing out of Frankie's driveway and speeding down the road towards home.

***

I pulled into my neighborhood which was just your average, ordinary neighborhood where all the houses looked the same. I pulled up to my white two story house and pulled in the driveway and got out of the car. My mom and dad weren't home from work yet.

I walked to my front door, but stopped short. My front door was unlocked. That's odd. My parents always lock the door no matter what. I walked back to my car and reached under my seat and pulled out my .22 caliber no one knew I had. I quickly loaded it with a few bullets that were hidden very well from in the glove compartment and made my way back towards the house.

I walked to the front door and opened it. I was very alert and cautious, watching my back from every direction.  I checked the living room and kitchen which were clear. I made my way up the stairs and checked every bedroom. I  saw an eerie blue light coming from the bedroom at the end of the Hall which happened to be mine. Shocker.

I stopped short of my bedroom door and put my hand on the gun's trigger, prepared to defend myself. I pushed the door open. "HEY! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING IN HERE?" I yelled, aiming the gun as I switched the light on. What I saw before me made me lightheaded.

"Hello, Wyatt. I've been waiting for you," the creepy figure said in a raspy male voice. "Who are you? Or better yet...WHAT are you?" I asked, not letting my guard down. The figure laughed. It was dressed in a long red cloak and where it's face should have been there was just darkness.

"You need not worry about that, my boy. You must worry about what the future holds," it said. I was confused. The future? As if sensing my confusion and curiosity, it continued to speak. "You see, you've become a different person. You don't know who you are anymore and unless you can find your old self buried beneath all that resentment and hatred you will be destroyed." I bit back a laugh. Are you kidding me? This joker was serious? Me? Be destroyed? Yeah, right.

"Laugh and doubt all you want. You have forty-eight hours to prevent the past from occurring and becoming an unstoppable monster that wants to loose itself from inside you. And it all began in June 2015."

I nearly fainted. Okay, so this dude could not only ready thoughts and emotions, he knew what happened between me and Jayden that summer.

"In order to prevent chaos and destruction you must stop yourself form turning into the monster you unconsciously became after that day. You will return to the past. You will have forty-eight hours to complete this mission. If you succeed, you will have a bright future and find love and divine happiness. If you fail, destruction will follow you for the rest of your days and everything you touch will crumble," he said. Oh my fucking gosh. What the hell was happening today? I was clearly insane. None of this was happening. It couldn't be. This was all just a dream.

But before I could say anything the figure suddenly began to stretch his hands out towards me and it was like I was in a trance as I began to walk towards him unwillingly. I struggled and pleaded but it was no use. "PLEASE, NO! NO!" But it was no use. The figures form began to swirl and from the darkness where his head should have been, a red smoke began to emerge and surround me and the right when I was face to face with him he opened his mouth and everything went black as I collapsed to the floor.
