chapter two

georgia present time

"look hun, we don't want to listen to some romeo and juliet bull" Daryl said.

"You all asked for my story and I'm giving it to you."

"I don't understand how some teenage romance is going to tell us why you left your old group."

"It'll all make sense soon. And when it does you'll understand why I had to leave!"

los angeles, one year ago

"That's it . I'm failing the course" I shut my textbook and tossed it onto my backpack with frustration.

"You didn't even get halfway through the problem."

"I tried that's all that matters babe."

"You took one look at it and shut your textbook."

"Me trying was opening my algebra textbook."

Chris chuckled and rolled his eyes. He got up and picked up my algebra textbook and tossed it back onto my bed.

"Let's try this one more time, Ari."

"Let's not" I crawled on top of attempting to give him a kiss but he was quick to move out of the way. I on the other hand fell completely face first into my pillow.

"Having fun making out with pillow?"

"Shut up" I said grabbing the pillow and hitting him with it. "Come on, let's just go down stairs and grab a snack, then we can go back to studying"

"We've already made 10 snack trips and it's gotten us nowhere. You need to get a good grade on this test love."

"I know, it's just math has never been my best subject. You know that."

"I know but that's why I'm here to help you. Tell you what you get this problem right and you can have all the kisses you want."

"Promise?"

"Promise."

the next day

I woke up to the sun shining in my eyes. I looked around at my surroundings and quickly realized I wasn't in my room. I heard shuffling throughout the kitchen and slowly got up. I walked down and saw Chris flipping pancakes onto a plate.

"He cooks!" I said jokingly.

Chris rolls his eyes and walks over to place a kiss on my cheek. "Good morning" He said.

"Good morning"

"Did you sleep well?"

"Yeah a little sore but I slept very well"

"Man I wonder where that soreness came from." Chris said with a sly smirk

"Don't play dumb, Christopher. You know exactly where it came from." I walked closer to him and he pulled me in for a hug. We were about to kiss until we heard the door slam open.

"Chris! Oh Ariana! Did you stay the night?" Liza asked

"Uh..."

"Chris you know the rules, no girls over unless I'm home. Nothing personal Ariana, you know I love you."

"Mom!!"

"Anyways your mom is probably worried ari, you should get back home."

"You're right Ms. Ortiz. I'll see all of you later?" I grab my purse and begin to walk out. I could faintly here Chris's mom beginning to scold him and I had to hold in a laugh.
