The next morning, when Vee came into my room, I was already dressed and ready for school.
When Vee saw me, she laughed and I smiled right back at her. I couldn't help it, I was excited to see start the day.
And... maybe I was also excited to see my new friend.
We did said our 'hellos' and 'goodbyes' with our parents, grabbed an apple or two, and were driving to school.
We were both singing along to Phoenix by Fallout boy when we pulled into the parking lot. I laughed at absurdity of our music choice this early in the morning. I was feeling really giddy.
We walked into school, and I couldn't help myself. I was looking around trying to see if Shane was here.
I was looking when my eyes caught a pair of blue ones. My heart skipped a beat when he started to walk from his car towards us.
"Hey", I smiled at him when he got closer. He gave me a lopsided smile in turn.
"Hey beautiful" he said grabbing my hand. I flushed red, both at the term of endearment and the hand grab.
He nodded at Vee with a "mornin". She gave me an amused smile looking down at our joined hands.
I blushed under her gaze. She laughed and I couldn't help but join her. Shane just looked at as curiously.
I just shook my head. I hooked my other arm in Vees and proceeded to drag them to the entrance of the school.
We dropped Vee off to class and then walked to class, talking about nothing. I couldn't help but be aware that he was still holding my hand.
His hand was warm and rough, a contrast to my soft and cool ones.
Which basically represented us.
When we entered the class everyone stopped and stared at our joint hands.
I ducked my head and pushed closer to Shane's back. Everybody looked curious, more than judgmental, but I didn't like any sort of attention on me like that.
We took our seats before the bell rang. The teacher walked in, the national anthem played, the announcements and then class began.
I suck for taking so long, but I've been really busy. Thank you guys for checking out my book! :D
