As the clock ticks closer to midnight I decide it is time to go to bed as tomorrow I would be out with my friends for a good part of the day to have one last party before our senior year of high school kicks off. I set an alarm on my phone for a little after nine as we would be meeting at around ten. With my alarm set and me all ready for bed I climb in and lay down and the last time I saw my clock it read 11: 35 August 31st.

I wake up to the sun shining through my window it seemed too bright to be much before nine and it is strange for me to wake up before 10 unless someone wakes me up or I set an alarm. I go to check my phone but the battery is dead it must have died in the middle of the night although I thought I remembered it being fully charged or mostly charged before I went to bed. Nevertheless, I plug it in and head downstairs to get some breakfast as I walk down the stairs I notice that it is eerily quiet for a summer morning and the noise from my younger twin brothers is missing. I go to peer into their room and it looks like you would expect ten-year-old boys room to look but it was devoid of them.

I peek into my parent's room and there was nothing there I figure that maybe they went outside so I sit down and have some breakfast and enjoy the rare minutes of silence. After I eat and take care of my dishes I run back to my room and see that my phone turns on as I enter the screen goes to black before I can make it over to it when I hit the power button it lights up and the time reads 10:30 October 1st. 'That can't be right it was August when I went to sleep' I restart my phone thinking that maybe it glitched but when it turned back on it still said October. I head back downstairs and head outside to talk to my parents but they are nowhere in sight neither are my brothers or our 3-year-old puppy, Rex. I look in our garage for the car thinking maybe they left but both of them were there.

I continue to walk around the outside of the house looking for a sign as to where they would be. When I was getting ready to call them I heard the neighbors heavy front door open then close so I ran back to the front of the house hoping that it was Mr. or Mrs. Meyers and that they would know where the rest of my family is. When I get up there I am disappointed to see Flynn Meyers standing on the front porch in sweatpants and a t-shirt. Flynn is a year older than me and should be at college starting his freshman year but instead, he is standing on his porch looking as confused as me. Even though he has annoyed me my whole life I decided to ask him if he knows anything.

"Hey Flynn," I call out to him he turns his head in my direction and his eyes land on me.

"Evie?" he asks somewhat shocked.

"Yes, it is me.Do you know what is going on why it appears to be October when it was August when I went to sleep last, or even where the rest of my family is."

"Sorry no clue I was gonna ask you the same question because nobody is inside even the fish are not in the tank and I have no Idea how it is October now."

"Your fish are missing too?"

"Yeah, I thought that was pretty strange too."

"Okay well, maybe there is somebody else on the street that will know something," I suggest.

"Good idea you take that side of the road and I take this side," he says surprisingly agreeing with me.

"Alright meet you at the end." I cross the street and knock on the door of the first house I wait a minute and no response I knock again but get the same results so I move on to the next house to get no answer same with every other house on the street. After the last house, I walk over to Flynn who was already waiting for me.

"Let me guess you go no answer for the whole street?" he says as I come to a stop next to him.

"Nothing, not even a dog barking and I know there are several dogs on our street."
