Ignazio's POV:

I was just called to see my parents in the throne room. I was too sad at what had happened to even deal with them. I even spent the most awful night of my life and the last thing I wanted to do is hear my parents rant.

My father and mother were seated in their throne as I walked up to their feet. I vowed and just stood there... Not really paying attention to what they shout at me.

But what DID catch my ears was the fact that mother said I was to be married today. I looked up furious and interrupted her. "I am NOT to marry anyone!" I yelled it out of my lungs.

"How dare you raise your voice to your mother? What has gotten into you lately? Is this all a joke to you?" My father questioned.

"You ask your son if this is truly a joke when you're trying to marry him off like some kind of animal. To you it's not even clear how I feel about this. In what other way do you want me to say that I do not wish to marry ANY princess of YOUR choice?!" I shouted the last sentence. Tears had been rolling out of my eyes at some point and I felt my hands in pain as I had fists in both of them.

"Oh mio Dio." I heard my mother gasp and noticed she covered her mouth.

"What is it my Queen? I am just stating the..."

"Your heart is truly taken. Oh my son! Forgive your mother!" Mother said.

"What are you talking about amore?" Father was completely confused.

"Don't you see? He is suffering! It is written in his eyes that his heart is in pain." She told my father. "Tell me... Does she truly make you happy?"

I only blinked my tears away as I was surprised as to how she knew I was in love and in pain.

"Is she a princess? Who is she? Do we know her?" My father began to ask.

"Shush my King. Let our son speak." My mother said and both now looked at me.

I took in a deep breath and sighed heavily. "My heart just melted at just looking at her for the first time. Her name is Leila of Long Island, a small City in New York. She.... I just met her but believe me, I fell for her at first sight. I never knew it could happen to anyone but it does. I do love her, I truly do but with the way THINGS turned out to be... I have lost her and her love." I glared at mother and looked down in sadness.

"You tracked him?" I heard my father ask.

"Look, I did it so he could see how childish he was acting. He has to be responsible for this and not run away from any problem." My mother said.

"That still doesn't give you the right to track down and ruin his life amore." Father sighed and gripped his temples.

"I'm sorry my son." My mother just said and father shook his head. "But to make this right, I will go personally to where this Leila girl from and invite her with her family to spend Christmas here with us at the palace." She requested.

"She will not want to deal with anything involving me." I said, trying my best to not even look at her in the eye.

"You both know that I never accept a no as an answer. I will insist. We are talking about my future daughter-in-law here." Just as my mother said this I turned to face her, not being sure if I heard this right.
