Gun Runner.

Chapter 9 New Resolution New Day.

Brenya walked out of the office and hailed  a cab. She was in no position to drive.
Her throbbing head had become worse and she knew sleep was no solution.
She had to take either aspirin or painkiller to have proper sleep and get cracking the next day.

Reaching home she showered and had a strong black coffee.
No appetite to eat and she even missed her lunch.
Her housekeeper came and asked,
"Ms do I cook something for dinner?"

" No Mary. "
" Give me warm water to drink."
Mary brought her warm water and asked her again, "If you feel like eating I will prepare something fast. "
But Brenya shook her head and took out a painkiller and swallowed with water.
" Put off the light Mary and decrease the air conditioner."

"It is suffocating."

Brenya woke up to the incessant ringing of her mobile.

"Tut...tut...tut....."
She was better today morning though the dull ache was still there.

She picked up her mobile from her table and checked the number.

"Hello!"

"Jerry!

"Sorry!"

"May I have your full attention Ms Black?"
" I'm coming over to pick you up within half an hour "told Jerry sternly."

"Jerry give me one hour say by nine. "
"I'm famished. " Didn't eat anything yesterday. "replied Brenya.

"Ok said Jerry and hanged up.

By the time Jerry reached her apartment, she had a hearty breakfast. After her stomach was full and after having a good sleep, she was better though the lingering pain in her chest remained.

"Coffee Jerry?"

asked Brenya.

"Yep! replied Jerry nonchalantly.

"Cream and sugar?"

"Yep!"

Mary made the coffee and placed on the dining table in front of Jerry.
Also she placed two grilled sandwich a long with sauce.
Without talking much Jerry drowned the coffee and ate the sandwiches.
"Yep! I'm done."  he burfed.
Jerry drove Brenya to her office without  conversing much except for yeah and Hmm.... in between.

"See Brenya I'm not prying on your privacy."

"but...."

"Well you know!"

"Give a second thought about your relationship with Johnson."

"If you don't want to spill your relationship fine."
"But........"

"Others would not understand and you would be counted as accompli. "

"Come clean!"

"Full stop."

Brenya bit her lower lip and tried to answer all his poking.

"Jerry ! "

"How could I tell he was my Lover?"

"Would you believe if I tell that I didn't know he was a Gun Runner?????"
"I was astounded when you accused me and called me names."

"Jerry! I didn't choose to fall in love with him."
"It happened."

" It just happened. "

Her voice was trembling and her tears were threatening to fall once again.
Without looking at her Jerry could catch her trembling voice and patted her shoulders.

"Ok!

"Boss"

"Cool"

" I was overboard."
