Last Friday, Netflix dropped the Christmas Special for their hit horror drama show Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina, which will receive its second season April 2019, and fans were looking forward to seeing what Christmas was like for a witch family.
Instead, we got nonsense. Instead of being something to stand out and get you in the festive feels, it's all just hinting at what's to come.
It didn't feel like it had all that much though put into it, it mainly recycled old plot points from Season One. Wicked things in the mortuary, Harvey's strained relationship with Sabrina, Roz and Susie get their own dumb subplot and the subject of Sabrina's deceased mother is back, with no closures to the mystery!
Look, if you just wanted to continue the overall story, then make Season Two a ten episode series. But if you wanted to make a Christmas story, then don't make Christmas feel tacked on just for laughs. It's redundant.
Really, this should've been an episode centred on the Spellman family. Especially now that Sabrina is a full witch, I hope we see less of our own kind in Season Two, and more of the broomstick-flying, cackling witches we've grown to glue to.
